Welp... covid finally got me :(

Starting to feel a bit better thankfully. It's been very up and down, such an odd virus :(2 One minute my throat is killing me, then it disappers, then my nose is blocked and then that disappears, very strange.

Hubby had a terrible night last night with a horrible headache, and so did my oldest son, looks like the boys are getting it afterall.

I too, along with my whole household finally got Covid. my husband and I can’t taste or smell, so it doesn’t matter what we eat. Nothing tastes good. My grandson who is 3 1/2 years old has it and is so crappy, it is unbearable.
I am a school nurse and never caught it . Now, my son in law brings it home and we are all sick.

I hope you and your family recover quickly, having the little ones sick is awful.

Finally feeling a lot better, just a lingering cough but othwise back to normal! We all ended up getting it and hubby is the last one now to be still feeling unwell, but I am very grateful that overall our symptoms were pretty mild.

Hope everyone else is doing ok! One thing that I found made me feel much better was drinking lots of mineral water, especially during the times that I could not stomach any food. =)2

I’m glad to hear that you’re on the mend @sugarcloud. I hope you continue to feel better every passing day.
I managed to avoid Covid for 2 years then early July I tested positive despite being totally asymptomatic. My husband had Covid so I had PCR test which confirmed I was indeed positive.
I isolated for the 7 days which in mandatory.
Then a bit more three weeks later I tested positive for Covid again and this time I don’t feel well at all.
Thanks for the tip about drinking sparking water because food and water tastes really strange and not pleasant at the moment.

I am glad you are feeling better, @sugarcloud !

Thanks lovely :)

Oh no I'm so sorry you are not feeling well!! That really sucks, I keep thinking that I am now home free, but more and more people are testing positive multiple times, what a pain :( My son is struggling with his appetite right now and has no interest in food, I've given the kids freedom to eat whatever they feel like and even pizza isn't doing the trick. Yes try the sparkling water, the minerals are also helpful I think because when you are not eating much you really need the extra electrolytes. Hope you feel better soon!

My husband and I are both recovering from Covid as well. Like you, we avoided it throughout the pandemic until just recently.

The respiratory part was mild for us, but we both had bad headaches and I had/have violent GI problems. Apparently the GI's a symptom a few lucky folks get. :confused2:.

Even though we are mostly recovered, we're still very low energy and have brain fog. We tried walking around our block last night and could barely do it.

I just got it in May after avoiding it for two years. Lucky me, I had the most inconsequential case of anyone I know. Runny nose and tickle cough. But I’ve had multiple friends recently get their butts kicked with it. Positive vibes to anyone dealing with it.

Poor SugarCloud! I'm glad you're better!

And poor everyone else who's got it/had it, too! I feel really sorry for EVERYONE who got this virus.

I think that the wildly different experiences people have with this virus is truly the strangest thing about it. You can get two people who are on an apparently level playing field - i.e. both vaxxed and boosted, similar health status - and one barely knows they've got it while the other has a terrible time of it. The unpredictability is what worries me the most. You could get off lightly or end up in the hospital and/or get long Covid, and you have no idea what category you'll be in.

I've avoided it so far, but it's scary because in the last few months many people close to me have caught it, having avoided it for a long time. Although, on reflection, one person went to a funeral and hugged people, and no one wore a mask including her, and the other one has just been on an enormous group walking holiday in Holland. Fifty thousand people!

is GI something involving a lot of loo paper ? I cant think what GI is short for but the violent could be telling ....
i hope is that is what it is it is well and trully past for you

and what's with the sparkling water ?

what is mnineral water exactly ?
is it just plain soda water ?
i hate bubbles
they go up my nose
any fizzy drinks in this house 'accidentally' always get the cap left off

GI - Gastro Intestinal, so yes, toilet related issues! I didn't get any myself but have heard that lots of people especially kids have had some terrible symptoms with the current covid strains.

As for mineral water, it is spring water that contains minerals such as magnesium, sodium, zinc, and calcium. I believe you can get it without bibbles but I love it bubbly. It's not to everyone's taste, and I didn't like it at first but now I am obsessed with it. =)2

This is exactly what I feared most, not knowing how it would affect all of us. The only family member I have yet to have it is my mum, and she is the one I worry most about given her age.

My poor husband had very mild symptoms to start and on the last day of isolation started to feel very nauseous. He was violently ill and vomited all day and couldn’t eat or drink anything for a few days. He still has a bit of a cough remaining, but other than that he’s recovered now.
I hope you and Gary stay well.

Yep, lot of TP involved, but it really means both "ends." I even slept with a bucket next to my bed one night because of the nausea.

i have read these are symptoms some of the kids get
how awful for you
nausea is particularly cruel to add to the mix

yes, this is what scares me the most too. You can get a mild case or a serious case. Four people can travel in a car together while one is infectious but with no symptoms, and no one else gets it, or everyone else gets it. Unpredictable is what keeps me so cautious.

Get well soon @Daisys and Diamonds.
My DS experienced exact same sensation saying he felt something constantly stuck at the throat!
Dust for speedy recovery & sending lots of hugs down south for you....

did you guys know that not peeing much is a symptom
i have a woolworths bladder
yesterday i got home from work and said to Gary despite drinking water like normal (my work is always hot) i hardly peed
:(2

Oh no I am so sorry @Daisys and Diamonds and I am wishing you a speedy and easy and full recovery, Big but gentle hugs to you and bucketloads of healing vibes. XOXO

I hope all who gets sick from this nasty virus recovers quickly and hopefully without too much misery!! hubby currently has it and so far its been more cold symptoms than anything else, he is currently on day 3 of feeling crappy....and he just had his second booster a week before testing positive...ugh, so far me and our adult son who lives with us are still negative as of this morning.

@Daisys and Diamonds I’m so sorry! I hope it’s a mild case with a quick recovery. I’m also hoping Gary stays well.

thank you
we are both ok
he is sick too
im going to ring the doctor tomorrow to get him the anti virals (of course knowing us its a long weekend but i only got symptoms on friday so he has just enough time)
