Happy New Year all!

I am in love with the WF bezel earrings and have been tempted to order them many times. I can swing the .25 tcw now or wait (maybe 6 months) to get the .50 tcw. I am not sure what the difference will be on my ear and if the .25 would be too small or the .5 would be too big. These would be my first diamond studs and I normally wear small pearls so I really am not sure. Does anyone have the WF .25 bezels? I would love it if you could post pictures!

Thanks so much!

The .25 total weight will be very small. The .50 total weight will still be small. If it were me, I would absolutely wait and get the .5''s since they are not eligible to be upgraded. They will still be small enough not to be too much for daily wear.

If you aren''t in a rush, I''d wait. .50 for earrings won''t be that large for most ears.

i think the half carats too ... i have (not the same as the WF ones) 1/4 carats in each year and i def wouldnt want smaller ... but i like the size i have cause they look so ''real''. I cant imagine having any bigger but i sure would give it a go if anyone wanted to gift me some

thanks so much for the link and all the advice. I guess I would like the .25''s, as I like the understated look of really tiny studs, but I just don''t want them to be so small that you can''t even see them. Is there any B&M that sells similar ones that I could try them on at?

Tiffany makes bezel earrings super tiny. I have a pair of .16 ctw bezels from Tiffs and I love them. Very small and dainty. Here's a quick shot of them on my large lobe, sorry they are filthy but I have 2 2 week old infants right now! They sparkle like crazy though, I wear them almost everyday right now. So if you want them now and like dainty, there's nothing wrong with getting the smaller ones IMO.

I''d wait and get the bigger pair; I got a pair of 1/2 ctw diamond earrings for my mother for Christmas- they looked great on her, but I wouldn''t go any smaller... especially if you''re considering waiting a few months to save for a larger pair!

My studs are 0.33 tcw and I love the size. They sparkle very nicely, but are understated for every day wear. I think your best bet would be to try some on at a B&M store - taste is very particular!

thanks! That gives me a really good idea. I think I am going to go and try some on. I think I will love the smaller ones! I will post with pics when I decide!

Thanks!

lop got some updated and accurate sizes from WF and posted them in my SMTR thread, but I wanted to make sure they ended up here too!

"This seemed big to me, so I asked Whiteflash, since I am thinking about getting some small studs. The sizes they gave me are:
approx 2.45mm-- .25ctw Earrings (includes bezel)
approx 2.8mm--.50ctw Earrings
(Includes bezel)
approx 3.2mm--.75ctw Earrings
(includes bezels)

Hope this helps..."

My original estimates were a wee bit high.

So - for less than a mm, do you think it's worth it to go for the .50ctw? Or stick with the .25ctw? Argh.

Thanks Geckodani- that helps! I just don''t know if the difference in size is worth it to me- especially because I am looking for small studs to begin with. I wish I could see them side by side on an ear! :)

I hate to break up the party but there is no way those numbers are correct. For the .75 ctw, one stone alone is 37 points roughly which is about 4.5mm on it's own just for the stone.

They don''t sound right to me either, neat, unless the number for smaller stones I found on PS (for example, 10 point = 3.0 mm) is incorrect. Hmmmm.

Well at least with the .75 ctw ones I know it''s incorrect. I believe my .16 ctw ones from Tiff''s are almost 4mm with the bezel...

My .75''s in plat are almost 5.5mm with the bezel....

Okay, I used a chart and came up with:

.25 tcw are 3.2mm before the bezel, and 4.2mm after.

.50 tcw are 4.1mm before the bezel, and 5.1mm after.

.75 tcw are 4.6mm before the bezel, and 5.6mm after.

lop then posted the revised numbers supposedly from WF.

Allison D said my original ones looked about right, but beach''s earrings are much larger.

I give up.

No my 5.5mm number agrees with your numbers. I have the .75's.... You said 5.6mm and I said they are about 5.5mm lol.... Are you confused ?

I thought my originals should be pretty close, since I used the chart for mm spread on diamonds and then added a mm for the bezel, LOL. lop saying WF gave different numbers is what threw me.

ETA: We need an emotie with his head banging the wall, a la TGal's avatar.

Didn''t mean to stir the pot! I haven''t seen the earrings -- just got the numbers from Jamie at WF. We might have had a miscommunication -- a quick search shows a .27 at 4.13 mm, so my numbers can''t be right. Sorry for the confusion. If I get it cleared up o Monday with anything useful, I''ll repost. Otherwise, I guess I''d ignore my numbers at this point.

LOL! No worries!

We''ll get it figured out.

I have 1/2ctw bezels (not from whiteflash) and they are about 4.8mm total. The Whiteflash bezel settings look a bit thicker so they''re probably larger than mine.

ok -- Here are the revised numbers from Whiteflash on the diameters. This is the whole earring -- she didn''t send stone diameters. These look more like it.

25ctw w/ bezels = 4.2mm
.50ctw w/bezels = 5.1mm
.75ctw w/bezels = 5.6mm

Sorry for the confusion earlier.
