I just got these back from WF today. We wanted the legato setting in platinum, but wanted diamonds added to the gallery. My ring size is 5 and the diamond is .80, ACA.

Thoughts?

Looks beautiful to me! CAD''s are always chunky, so your ring is going to be so delicate and gorgeous!

Ditto. Looks great to me!!!

I''m not good with those CAD pics. Makes me nervous. The diamonds are being set pave style (I inquired about the difference in pave and melee on another post). I am now worried that a stone will come loose and fall out. Additionally, I am nervous about having diamonds on the basket, but not on the actual band. Will it look unbalanced?

I don''t think it will look unbalanced at all! I think it will look beautiful, delicate and feminine. I absolutely love the CAD.

I don''t remember where, but I''ve seen the Legato with melee in the head before, and it looks fantastic. I seriously considered it for mine, but ended up going with the standard one.

I don''t think it will look unbalanced at all - infact its a very classic and elegant style. Your ring will look much more refined and delicate IRL than in the CADS, don''t be worried.

I also wouldn''t be concerned about WF''s pave setting - they have a great bench. The diamonds will be tiny and will just look like extra sparkle and add interest when finished.

All in all, hope you go for it, can''t wait to see!

arjunajane you''re right you have seen the legato with pave before on my precious e-ring!!! How wonderful that you remembered

soconfused I really don''t think that the fact that the band for your e-ring isn''t paved will make your e-ring unbalanced. I think the fact that the gallery has melee will make it look really elegant.
I LOVE the legato head and I feel confident to say I think you will too!
Pretty ring congrats!

soconfused oops I forgot to add I seriously don''t think you have to worry about the diamond falling out at all WF has fantastic workmanship. They would never send out something where the stone could or would fall out you are in phenomenal hands!

Actually I believe on this thread someone received a WF ring and a stone fell out of the pave . It can happen to anyone, so you cannot really say that it wouldn''t. That is the risk of pave.

Looks beautiful

It''s really beautiful!! Can''t wait to see the final product!

Oh, I love this. So pretty!!

Stones falling out is just a risk of having pave...but with well made pave like this it shouldn''t happen as frequently as with poorly made pave. But you need to know it''s always a possibility. But it isn''t a big deal to have a stone replaced if need be.

missjaxon I didn''t say that a melee stone could never ever fall out. MY understanding of what soconfused said was that she was worried that having melee on the gallery was a reason to worry that the stones there would be vulnerable to falling out frequently...granted I could have read more into her statement but that can happen sometimes.
I simply responded that WF does have great workmanship and would have advised soconfused if it were the case that her design was susceptible to having the stones fall out with frequency.
Additionally, I own a ring with the same design and have had it for some time now and not had any problems with the melee falling out and I let her know that fact. Again I realize I am lucky and I too do realize the problems that can arise with the use of melee stones.
I was simply reassuring soconfused that she is in good hands because I truly believe that. I had not seen the case which you posted but I think you will agree that in that case WF was ultra quick to fix the issue which they would do for any of their customers.

That''s going to be a beautiful ring.

Lots of raves so far & it is a lovely design .... since you ask for thoughts though I'll share my own personal preference: I'd prefer the band itself be more narrow. There's a recent thread "three times a charm" or something like that with a scale I *adored*. Will try to find it.

CADs can be deceptive. & I was looking at pictures of a finished ring ... but mm is mm. Is that 2.5mm or 2mm or 1.8?

ETA: Here's the thread & ring I was talking about

And here''s my lame attempt to demo the difference in scale of band makes ...

and I didn''t say that WF didn''t have great workmanship or customer service as I know the majority of PSers can account for this and say so frequently. I simply was correcting the fact that you said "They would never send out something where the stone could or would fall out" because nobody can predict the circumstance as to how or when a stone may fall out. As I said before that is the risk of having pave. I also have to agree with Neat and say that quality workman ship does significantly lower the risk, but it will always be a risk of owning a pave ring and that said it is in fact very easy to replace. I never meant to offend anyone.

Thank you for all the comments and advice about the pave. I will find out what it costs to replace a stone and go from there. Thanks again!

missjaxon I''m not offended and I understand now that you have explained. I think what happened was when I came back to this thread and saw that you had referenced what I said and said you can''t say that I was a bit upset because I felt singled out and as though you were saying I was trying to give soconfused poor advice and mislead her which was not my intention at all of course and to be honest I must have been having a bit of a bad day w/o going into a whole long story I''m having a horrible gum infection and can''t eat and am in bed most of the time lately and maybe I am missing food and the outside world and was irritable but it''s fine now and I hope that I didn''t offend YOU?

soconfused SORRY to take your thread off topic.
You have a very good idea to inquire first about replacement cost for lost melee and go from there.
Your ring is going to turn out beautiful I am sure

I think it looks amazing! I recieved my whiteflash ring on Thursday and found that a melee fell out the next day...I''m not quite sure how that happend but Whiteflash was super quick to fix my ring and I will have the ring back tomorrow.

That''s a great idea adding diamonds to the gallery. Can''t wait to see the finished product!
