On Whiteflash''s Jewelry Gallery site, they have a 3-prong Martini setting I love.

But it will accomodate a stone only up to 1ct.

If the stone was larger, say, nothing over 1.30ct., then do you
think the setting would be prone to flipping?

+1 - but for a .46c stone? I''m curious too.

Scintillating...

Hhmm, don''t know.

I''m thinking that smaller stones have less weight and therefore may
not flip, but I know Wink will not do a pendant in a 3-prong, not sure about
GOG, so I was surprised to see one in WF''s gallery.

This subject has certainly been discussed on PS before, but I was wondering if
there has been a change of thinking among the vendors...

Not sure if I right, but something makes me think Mara has delt with this issue,
maybe she will chime in here.

i only dealt with flip or no flip on a 4 prong...but i do remember garry had posted in the past that flip or no flip has to do with how the rabbit ears on the chain are typically connected to a non-sliding pendant. aka too high or too low on the metal, then it might flip. but balanced out just right and it should be fine. i only have a really tiny bit of flip with my .38c 4 prong pendant which i am okay with...when i had GOG set it i stressed that i did not want flippage going on.

not much help i know. did you ask WF about flipping?

Thanks Mara, I knew you would have some insight.

I have not called Whiteflash, I''m just at the thinking stage of this little puppy.

If I do this, I want very little metal. Ya know, the floating diamond look!
