Hello, I'm very much still a newbie and learning so much about diamonds on PS, trying to view stones IRL when I get a chance (super fun). I read so many newbie stories, like myself, trying to find a nice stone in a store sometimes and wonder if the HCA score is good, what is the cut class, etc. What should the price be given similar specs. What are complementary angles or depth for a 57% table, if desiring an Ideal cut stone? I usually have to get the numbers from the jeweler, write it down, then go home and plug them into the laptop. I could probably pull up PS on my phone and do it but an app would be a click away. I'm pretty set that I'll buy from one of the PS vendors when we're ready, but I still wonder about stones I'm shown in B&m stores just for fun and learning.
Question: Would it be helpful to have a mobile app to have these tools at your fingertips when out looking at stones? Have a database full of info. to negotiate price?
I ask because my husband writes Android apps as a FT job, very talented and could put something together. Does something like this already exist? Is it a good idea to pursue further? Any suggestions on how to move forward with sponsorship to defray time investment? What other features or tools would you like to see if such an app was created?
Just a thought would love to hear any feedback positive or negative.
