From what i gather from just about every one including HM Queen Elizabeth II is the best thing you can do for your pearls is wear them
 
Restrung my GSS and akoya strand with my new 6.5mm akoyas for the ends (I had some freshwater stand ins) and upgraded the clasp from gold filled to 14k matte gold. Woot!

A big ole Tahitian strand—no idea where I purchased it, although it's quite a few years ago, now. Circled, nice lustre, fun colors, and 14-16mm. They're heavy!

On my desk blotter:

Love this! I am such a big fan of big, bold, circled baroque and button Tahitians that are colorful. Your necklace is gorgeous.
 
I just took a picture - trying to capture the overtones in these pearls. Arg.
Little rainbows that don't show up until the lighting is right. #Pearlnerding.

Edit: I may just sleep and shower in this even though I know I shouldn’t cause it’s bad for the pearls. It’s just so light and comfy and pretty. But we can see how long it takes for them to deteriorate for science haha.
