What are you wearing today? Pearl edition!

These are all the pearls I have for now. Playing with them while waiting for my necklaces to arrive.

The tiny greenish grey one is my favorite, and I'd love to get a strand that color. I got it on ebay about 10 years ago for $20. Love the engraving. The swirly 40s looking ring is set with two oecs and pave is all single cut. It's weird that pearl look so white on its own, but next to the grooved ring, it looks yellow. The grooved ring was from an elderly family friend 20 years ago. She said she bought it in Japan before she immigrated to the U.S., so it's a special ring.

Now I need to go buy a pearl ring. Lol. Your collection is lovely! They’re all so unique and nicely proportioned.

@ForteKitty I love the pinky ring! Is it a pistachio colored pearl?

Love that sapphire! I think the little pearl might be borderline pistachio? It's pretty small, about 5.5mm and has a greenish, sometimes a little mauve-greenish tone, some tiny blemishes visible under a loupe. I'm not finding much info on pistachio pearls, are they difficult to find?

I don’t think they’re a type of pearl so much as a color description that I’ve seen used. There’s so much lingo though! Maybe we need a sticky with terms and definitions lol

I figured that part out haha, but I'm used to more definition on color/grades. Diamond grading is so narrow and gems are a bit less so, but pearls seem to be the wild west.

@ForteKitty That wee pistachio pearl ring in particular, is really pretty! Like you, I'd love a pistachio strand. It's doable but might take a long while for the pearls to be collected? I've seen the occasional strand but they were either sold or out of my snack bracket.

And may i add tips
I see so many pearl related things - i think i must remember that for future reference

Love these
they are all so distinctive and diffetent
My favourite is the only ring
but i am biased towards pinky rings !

I reworked my tiny choker and did single knots between pearls so it lengthened it slightly which is good because it was a hit too tight before. So now it sits lower but much more comfortably and is still high enough to layer.

I picked out my pearls- now I need to decide what to wear with them. I circled back to circle Tahitians and received these in the mail last night. I strung one with a pendant and the other is in a temporary strand. I'm waiting on 40 loose circle pearls to arrive to create the rope. :)

Wow some of those pearls look huge! Thank you for sharing.

I'm wearing 2 necklaces and a bracelet linked together. Multicolor Freshadama and pale pink freshwater pearls.

Those are lovely! Such pretty colors and luster.

Waiting for my stringing supplies to arrive and playing with my new blue akoyas from @elizat which matches pretty darn well with the lightbox blue earrings (that I can't wear, posts too thick). Those lightbox blues are def more grey than blue, and I need to find a way to work them into a single piece! Sorry my phone is so old they can't capture the luster, need to get a new phone too haha.

Gorgeous! Pearls and diamonds are so hard to photograph but the beauty of your pieces comes through.

Oooh! That will be a Rope, capital R! How long will you make it? Guessing that along with being beautiful, it will be heavy!

@ForteKitty The pearls and diamonds look like they compliment each other perfectly! The lustre of the pearls and the fire of the diamonds. What could be better?! :kiss2:

I'm excited because the pearls and bead bumpers are being delivered today and thank you for being excited with me. :)

I have 77 pearls planned for the necklace and I hope it will be around 40 inches. The majority of the pearls will 10-11mm and about 6 inches of 11-12mm pearls. I hope after I run errands the pearls will be here. :)

Can’t wait to see your completed rope Lisa!

I’m continuing to layer with the tiny choker now that it’s choking me less

That's a beautiful look- I can feel the serenity these pearls exhibit while wearing coming through the screen.

In the end- I didn't make a rope. I decided I need at least 54 inches for a rope to feel comfortable to me and I don't plan on buying any more circle pearls in the near future. I just made two necklaces that I wear together or connect with the clasps.

Ah. This answers the question I posed in the "Show Me Your Pearls" thread. =)2

Your pearls are lovely and your ring is so pretty! Can you tell us about it?

Thanks! It’s a starsapphire set by hearts of water on Etsy
