What are you wearing today?! Show me your CS!

For many of us it is our time alone without the kids or pets jumping on us. :)

Haha! My kids are grown and the pets mostly behave, but I can sure see that, too :)

Today I'm wearing these lavender jadeite disks with 14k yellow gold. These earrings show amazingly well through hair, and though simple, really emphasize the jaw line well.

Went on another gem hunt. This time at the northern Thai-Burmese border, Mae Sai. Still wearing my spinel and ruby rings at the Northernmost part of Thailand. Walk past the bridge and that is Myanmar. Beyond the blue sign is Myanmar.

Wearing my rose gold & hauyne earrings with a diamond by the yard necklace. :)

Today I'm wearing my golden moonstone 18k necklace, with my black jade bangle.

I have to say, with black and white outfits, black dresses and leather, black jade looks great. I really would love to get some extra large, "baroque " shaped, highly polished black jade beads, like 20mm each. Maybe with one matte textured bead mixed in. Some day I'll commission such a necklace. It's on my wish list for sure!!

Today I am wearing two pins, one is a 14kt flower pin made from blue topaz, amethyst and peridot and an 18kt butterfly made with graduating blue sapphires and diamonds. IMG_2358[1].jpg IMG_2360[1].jpg IMG_2361[1].jpg

Catmom, those are lovely! I especially love the graduated sapphire butterfly; its so elegant.

Catmom, those pins are so pretty. I love the flower one so much!

I'm wearing some blue topaz and gold earrings which my mother in law gave me. They are likely irradiated, but such a sweet gift. They, along with the star sapphire ring go well with this long skirt, which reminds me of a Gerhard Richter abstract painting.

Catmom the placing of the brooches very apt! Bluegemz the moonstones necklace looks like it would be lacy and pretty and I like the close up of the earrings.

It probably deserves own thread - I never thought i'd recut a Tanzanian spinel - but it is recut, and reset, prolly 6.5 from 6.7 ct, window closed, glows in the sun

GAH, now that is truly gorgeous!!!

You know, I had a great-grandfather on my paternal grandma's line. He'd deserve a thread somewhere. He was tall, very blond and blue-eyed, handsome and very hard-working. But mostly, he had the gift of kindness to animals. Today he'd be the most successful vet. Always working, either raising something or taking care of animals. He was a peasant orphan, an autodidact who taught himself to read and got rich three times (and each time his fortune was taken away by the Soviet power). This gift of kindness...he could enter any home, and not a single guard dog would ever attack him. He even died in a decent way, at 94, totally with it and having said good-bye to all household members.
And from such a person, the only thing I inherited are large, square, peasant hands!

So my jeweler openly says that small rings will be "lost" on my hands and i need larger ones. Hence everything is large. :)
