I've always loved those colors together! Very pretty bracelet and pendant! As tempted as I am to wear my lavender jade because it matches my nail polish so well, ( really, it's almost an exact color match! I'll attach a picture to show this for fun, ) I'm wearing this spessartite heart pendant and 18k pink spinel and spess bracelet. The inspiration comes from feeling Fall in the air. The light is becoming softer and more golden, and apples are everywhere. I'm thinking of ripening squash and harvests in general. Spessartites really capture that spirit of fullness of fruition, harvest, warmth and coziness in such a powerful way. Unlike Citrines, spessartites have that increadible sparkle and fire which feels very energetic rather than mellow. ( the mellowness of citrine is such a different look, that's what I'm trying to say) is It's like a deep Earth magic in the 'glow'. I've always loved the energy of spessartites for these reasons. And even though orange is definitely NOT my color, the fire prevents the color from sitting flatly against my skin. It's more like wearing a glowing ember around. One doesn't focus on how the ember goes with skin tone, if that makes sense. I rarely venture out of the color ranges of blue/purple/green, but i make exceptions for these beautiful garnets.
The bracelet was also purchased from the jeweler whom I wrote about. I saw it and immediately thought of it as the sunset bracelet. My husband snuck off one day while we were nearby her shop and bought it as a gift to bring joy through the cold season here. As a native Californian, I just cannot get used to the snow and cold of Winter here, and often longed for Winter to be over. It's was meant as a reminder of coming warmth and all of the glory of Summer .
I REALLY would love to have a spessartite ring made by a particular jeweler and have wanted one for 5 years now. Sigh...that would be my next ring choice. The bracelet would look so much better with a spessartite ring. I have a pink ring (topaz), but it doesn't pop like a spessartite ring would, because topaz has a gentler glow. Though I have Spessartite earrings, they are quite massive by comparison with the pendant, so I'm just wearing simple gold hoops today.
