What are you wearing today?! Show me your CS!

I will admit I have had trouble seeing what he fuss is about translucence but that blue bangle you posted! Wow! I get it now!

Imagine the stress of not banging your arm on something hard @Bluegemz!

Is there any chance you can post the link to the Mason Kay jade chart? It is a good learning chart!!!! I would like to see it more clearly.

Yes, the extremely fine grain allows for the light to just pass through it! My blue one pictured is translucentalso, but has a broken ice texture which is not as rare. I’ll attach a picture so you see what I’m describing. If I was wearing a 100k bangle, then maybe I’d be nervous. As it is, i don’t worry about banging them, truly. I’ve worn this blue one for almost 5 years and it’s been knocked plenty of times. It once happened that my daughters lavender bangle broke, but it had a grainy, sandy sugar texture which is common in lavender jadeite, which may have disguised a crack inside. Aside from that, the bangles have been tough as nails pretty much.

I’ll link you, but for study purposes, You can also google ‘Mason Kay jade color chart’ and many of their images will come up from the catalogues that they’ve printed over the years. There is a lot more there to look at besides what I posted. Here goes.....

@Bluegemz

Thanks for posting the Mason Kay chart, how interesting!! I've seen a lot of green jade and some icy jade and lavender jade in the stores here in Hong Kong but nothing as blue as your gorgeous pieces. I have to admit, I haven't been looking especially for jade pieces so maybe I just haven't been paying attention.

I would love to have a few nice jade pieces but the choices here are overwhelming. Every jewelry store has so much jade and the prices for nice pieces for type A are insanely expensive, at least US10 to 20k for rings. My grandmother likes to buy jade but she tends to buy cheaper bangles and other modestly priced jade pieces for fun, not the collector priced items. I don't wear bangles otherwise I would ask her to choose one for me! It is so lovely to be able to see everyone's jade pieces on PS. I'm so happy that I can admire them from afar. Thanks for sharing!

Beautiful jewelery in this thread!

Is anyone interested in offshoot thread picking up the earlier conversation about reacting to different gemstones energetically?? (I dont want to ruin purpose of this one but thought it was a cool conversation)

Personally- i cannot wear rose quartz. I have almost immediate negative reaction - so weird.

Labradorite - always made me feel very tuned in and i got lots of creative ideas.

Just purchased some peridot earrings.....will remain open minded!! =)2

Love love love this idea! In fact, the energetica of the stones is what determines what I wear on a daily basis. Then ichoose clothes to fit the jewelry.

It has a 14k gold ring band with silver on the top. It had a blue flash which is ‘sleeping’ in the low morning light.

Soooo jealous @Burmesedaze! I had 2 min noodles today! Feeling so unsatisfied!

But but but there's so much more variety and choices Down Under than in Yangon! Especially the fresh oysters and lobsters!
haha you're right we do have fabulous produce but I was stuck at home and lazy so ate a packet of 2 min noodles and then felt terribly guilty afterwards because that stuff is trash!

I don’t know if you guys do this but sometimes at night I just take an empty ring setting and put one of my many unset stones into and just stare. I consider this meditation. :rolleyes2:

So today’s session starred my newest arrival. :Up_to_something2: 4B0C73FA-B34F-49B6-B7EF-6CA5B7A7BD8E.png

Very pretty! I don’t have any extra settings lying around, but I do love to look at my stones. Is this a Merelani mint garnet? It’s beautiful!!

Thank you :) It’s actually a tourmaline. Primary colour is green but with bluish tints. Whoa I’m super happy it looks minty. That’s been my holy grail but I haven’t been able to afford it.... yet:whistle:

D75113DA-F78C-4295-953E-EDC37EBB26A3.jpeg Also wearing lavender jade today....I find that the enigmatic color of lavender inspires a sense of both calm and energy, which I’ll definitely need at the office today.
