Acinom - that is the most perfect blue.

I've been experimenting with mixing metals lately so wearing YG spinel halo with plat french cut diamond and ruby band.

Hubba, hubba! Your spinel woke me right up! Gorgeous! I'm sure I've probably told you that repeatedly already, but it never hurts to repeat it.

Since people liked my first pair of "upcycled" watch part earrings, I figured I'll show you my second pair! They are also recycled watch parts, but with moonstone in them. These remind me of the moon & sun for some reason. Can't exactly say why, but they just do

Oh no, I certainly didn't make these!! Sorry if I made it sound that way I may be the least artistic person ever, so this is way beyond my abilities unfortunately I don't know the artist behind them...they were both purchased at a small store in NJ this summer. The store owner said the artist is from PA, but that's all I know. Thanks for the kind words though!

I was inspired by Mochiko to dig out a ring I haven't worn in a while to wear today

It's a hefty PLAT ring, so the style isn't for everyone, but it's an estate piece, so I like to imagine where it's been. It has sapphires and diamonds, with cutwork on the sides that makes me drool every time. The only thing I dislike is my mistake of going to a less than ideal B&M jewelry store to re-tip the prongs and make the stones more secure--they made huge blobby prongs that I can't stand. So at some point I'll have a more reputable jeweler fix that.




EDIT: excuse the slightly wet hands in a few pics--I was in the kitchen washing my hands and realized that was the best light in my house for a photo shoot of the ring lol. Hubby rolled his eyes at me

Beautiful ring, lovedogs. I like the Art Deco basket, the flower/palm pattern is gorgeous! Vintage pieces are always fascinating - you wonder what story they would tell. If only they could speak. (But of course, the mystery is part of the allure!)

Wearing my Paraiba tourmaline today. I do not wear it very often as I am very careful with it. But I always enjoy wearing it and I am still surprised when I see the color and glow. Stone and french cut setting by Leon Mege.

This is off topic a bit, but I wonder whether you might share the vendor you purchased from with the individual on the other thread asking for help finding a sapphire on a 30K budget. I think yours is one of the best (most saturated, best color, etc) I've ever seen, so maybe asking your vendor might point him in the right direction? Just a thought!

Thank you lovedogs! The jeweller is a local jeweller specialized in antique jewelry. They have some great pieces but are not specialized in color stones. It's a lovely store but I would not recommend buying online from them. When I bought my ring they had more sapphire rings, but none as saturated as this one.

Gotcha, never mind then Just a thought in case you had bought from a particular board vendor and maybe yours could be used as an "inspiration stone" in terms of color, saturation, etc.

I love love love this ring Acinom! My dream sapphire ring.

Sadly I rarely wear my rings anymore as I exercise most days in my lunch breaks and hate a) wearing jewellery when I exercise and b) having to worry about my rings when I take them off at work. I lose and break things so easily!

I've been wanting to set these two in a bypass forever. This is my 2.2 carat mahenge spinel, and 2.5 carat blue sapphire ring (AGL heat only). The other rings are all spinels (violet and mahenge).
