February is such a great time for a taste of Tahiti.

I'm a little annoyed because these photos don't capture all the colorful overtones of the pearls.

Earrings are 10mm(?), blossom setting, from Pearl Paradise
Necklace is 9-11mm(?), 18 inch, from Pure Pearls
Ring is 14-15mm, pearl from The Pearl Society, classic setting from Pearl Paradise, and I already had the 2 diamond bands
Manhands are 2 ft. x 3 ft., from my father

Thanks ennui. It was the mix of sizes that appealed to me. It gives a lot of interest to the strand. They are metallic in luster, even though they weren't sold as such. I like that they match my Christmas earrings really well too.

Our Costco had something very similar to this a few years ago...usually they sell the 100" rope, but this one had different sized pearls just like yours...I'm still kicking myself over that loss.

Thanks everyone! They're 5mm pearls with 10mm large ones woven through. They aren't knotted between each pearl...there are knots around each large single pearl. Hopefully it doesn't become an issue.

I like them tripled best too, but a long double rope and the quadruple collar are fun too.

Pirard, I was amazed by Costco's selection too. Mine right now has an 18 inch round freshwater strand with what looked like small diamonds in between each pearl (it was $250 so it was probably not diamonds at that price, but I didn't look closely enough at the tag to be sure). They had some nice pendants and Tahitians too.

cmd, I like the random appearance of the pattern of your rope. The one I saw at Tiffany was more formally designed.

Yes, it's from Birks. Here they've been having a store wide 50-60% off sale, with some really nice things featured. A small selection of Tahitian pieces, some freshwater strands, rings, and earrings, a few Akoya pieces (but not many), and gold. They also have a vintage section....filled with pieces from the early 1900's with natural seed pearls and drops. Those started around $1500 for pearl drop earrings (which was the sale price) and went up to a spectacular $17,000 platinum, diamond, and seed pearl oval broach. Very Downton Abby! I had hoped that they would have the Tahitian enhancer in that I fell in love with last summer, but no go. But I think I made out pretty well. They seem to be one of the few places that sell nice pearls here.

Edit: they come in lavendar too.
