We are going to the Outer Banks on Saturday, for a week. I''m really looking forward to it. Must. Start. Packing.

I just finally popped over from "Rocky Talky" and "Show my the Ring," can I join in?

I''m a teacher, so I have the summer OFF. It''s actually my first REAL summer of, and I''ve declared it the "Summer of Annie." I''ve been spending each and everyday THE WAY I WANT TO. Oh, and as far as trips go: DH and I have recently visited my MIL''s lake house in the mountains nearbye, but we''re getting geared up for our anniversary trip to the Outer Banks. We went last year and FELL in LOVE!
Tiffany, where do you go in the Outer Banks? Will you bring the sweet pup in your avatar with you?

I''m so jealous of you all who have Hawaii and European plans! Ahhhh, would love to do either, or ALL.

Annie

I just got back from Chicago - saw "Jersey Boys" and an old college friend - stayed at The Palmer House.

Getting ready to go to New York the first week of July - Yankees/Red Sox game on 4th of July, staying at the Waldorf Towers.

Planned on going to Hawaii (I go every year) - pushing it back to February.

For the rest of the year:
September - Washington State for a wedding
September - Boulder, Colorado - Football Game
October - San Jose, CA - Football Game
October - San Francisco - Football Game
November - New Orleans/Baton Rouge - Football Game
November - Las Vegas - Basketball Tournament
December - Charleston / Morgantown, WV - visit family and . . . you guessed it - Football Game

I guess you can tell I really like Football.

Great thread!

NEL, I''m so jealous... climbing in Yosemite. My dream!! DH and I haven''t climbed in several years and I *really* miss it. I''m afraid we''re getting too old now! LOL!!

Our plans:
4th of July week: Telluride, CO
Labor Day Weekend: Either Yosemite (hiking up Half Dome) or Mequon, WI for some lakeside R&R (but we''ll probably end up kayaking... DH can''t sit still!!)
Too old??? I don''t believe it at all!! There are some absolutely AMAZING climbers at our rock gym who''ve been climbing for 40+ years. I''m not even 1/10th as good as they are! Nothing is better than experience!

i did see that they''re building a westin on st. lucia due to be complete june 09.
When FI and I have time and money, we are going to the Ladera for a late honeymoon.

I am excited to see how many people are going to be in CO. I love it here. My FI and I have been all over the state but this summer we are going to takle as many 14ers as we can. (14ers are mountains 14,000+ feet above sea level and CO has more than any other state). I know we are doing Mt Evans for his birthday. We may also go to Trinidad, CO and Central City, CO.

We are going to take a fall trip, but we aren''t sure where. My BFF is a pilot for a tiny airlines, so wherever he can get us buddy passes, we will go.
D just got back from CO about 3 days ago--I think he just went up Mt. Elbert. He''s driving back to Portland (from Boston) next week to do Mt. Hood. He summitted Mt. Rainier last fall and is hoping to get over to Switzerland to climb the Matterhorn this year. He''s also still on standby for Denali. We did Mauna Kea on our honeymoon, which was great! Which are your favorite 14ers, Brazen?? We totally live on the wrong side of the nation--we climb Mt. Washington all the time (in fact we''re going tomorrow), but that''s as tall as it gets. It''s much more challenging in the winter, though. If nothing else, it''s good training for taller peaks. We''ve been talking pretty seriously about moving to CO--I might be able to give up the ocean for mountains! Have fun climbing Mt. Evans!!!

We''re doing this as well, though I think our game is on July 3rd. I definitely wanted to see a Red Sox/Yankees game at Yankees stadium while it''s still standing. Have a fantastic time!

I have been all over CO and lived here my entire life, so I can help you with any questions you have about the state. I really love it here.

My favorite is MT Evans. It is one of the closest to denver and the one I know the best. I love to hike up to the top and have lunch at the lake below the summit. I alsio find that one has more wildlife than the others I have done. There are aways mountain goats, big horn sheep and a million pikas all talking to each other. None of the other 14ers I have done are so alive. On Pikes Peak there are these tiny little things that looks like really tiny weasels that I think are creepy. The four I have done by the continetal divide further west seem to have no wildlife at all. It is haunting and beautiful, but I like the animals. I have done many others, but not in years so I don''t remember them as clearly.

Below is a picture of the maroon bells we took when we went to Aspen last fall for our aniversary.

Wow, I have that same picture of the Maroon Bells from last August. It''s SO beautiful there.

We''re leaving for Kauai on July 18 and then to Maui on the 23rd through the 29th. I posted a question a while back about whether to just go to Kauai or go to Maui too. My DH decided he wanted to see both islands so the decision was made. I''m regretting it a bit already though, because I think I''ll really like Kauai better. Oh well, it''s Hawaii right?
