Merry Christmas!

I just logged in and wanted to know what you guys wanted? Did Santa bring you what you wanted or did you get any good surprises? I must have been on the Nice list this year.

Hello everyone!

My boyfriend and i didnt exchange gifts for the first time this year, instead we got ourselves a 46 inch LCD, PS3 and my personal favorite.. Guitar Hero World Tour!

From my mom and dad
Coach purse
Coach boots
Born Boots
socks
Wisconsin Badger Sweatshirt ( i was in need of a new one)

I treated myself to a few new pairs of Joes Jeans....

I really just loved being with my family this year... it was alot of fun! I wish you all the best of health and happiness in 2009!

This was one of the best Christmases ever!

FI gave me:
*A trip to Hawaii (one and a half weeks in Kauai!)
*A new puppy (which will come after our trip so she won't have to be in a kennel)
*Some beautiful plumeria earrings from Na Hoku as a teaser for the Hawaii trip next week
*We're moving and I didn't lift a finger. He arranged everything and did it all!
*But the best gift of all -- sky high black Christian Louboutin peep toe heels!

I was shocked! He has never bought me shoes before and I had no idea he even knew what Christian Louboutins were. I guess he listens when I'm prattling on about my latest shopping finds. LOL. That was so touching. Pic is in the shoe thread! LOL.

The greatest PS thread of all time. There is just something about a man who buys his lady shoes. It's incredibly romantic. I may be a shoe freak for saying that, though! Yep. I'm a shoe freak.

I gave FI:
*Prada outfits - he loved them all!!! Even got teary over it!
*New gloves
*La Perla for me
31.gif

I got my mom:
*Burberry trench

FI got my mom:
*New LV bag, the bigger 35 Speedy
*He also flew her to NY for Christmas as a surprise

Mom gave me $1k to spend at WF, so I'm going to get either the DBTY earrings or add to the budget and get something else.

I got myself some diamond and gold earrings from Me & Ro.

Whew. Just looking this over makes me dizzy. *faints*

Blissfulbride, that watch is so pretty!!!! I love that you treated yourself!!!!

I am my own Secret Santa! LOL.

wannaBMrsH, what color are your Uggs? I love Uggs!!!

Be careful with the Jewel Jet! It can launch your rings into space!

All you ladies got such amazing gifts... would love to see photos so we can all live vicariously through each other! There is another gift thread in DiamondTalk.

My Uggs are chestnut...they are the exact color and size as my short ones. He really DOES listen when I prattle on about what I want and don''t want!

We also got a couple more gifts late last night. (We had a difficult week with the kids and BM and lots of drama for another thread) But his family gave us a couple more gifts and I got some more stuff today at work:

-Pasta cook set complete with Pasta, Olive Oil and Sauces from FM/FIL
-Beautiful Picture frame set (one of those where there is abig pic in the middle and several smaller ones around it) from FBIL (he said it''s for the wedding pics!)
-Super Cozy Blanket at work from an office mate
-Starbucks Gift Card from an office mate
-A Digital Picture frame from FI/Me to FI/Me (it was supposed to be a gift to BM from our boys, it''s loaded with pics of them) but after all the drama we thought we deserved it much more.

Yes, we were definitely on the "Nice" list indeed. *sigh*

Hello Ladies,

Hee! My FI and his two boys just picked me up at work and took me to lunch and I got the BEST.CHRISTMAS.PRESENT.EVER!!!!

He (FI) felt horrible about the way that Christmas ended up being because of the boys' BM. Soooooo....Neiman's is having an extra 40% off on top of their clearance...and now for my after-Christmas present:

Manolo Blahnik Nefasta in Pink!!!! (I am wearing these for New Year's Eve!) I am super excited because shoes are one of my secret obsessions and after a year and a half, FI had never bought me shoes! He would go with me and I would buy them, but he had never bought me shoes. And now, in one week, he's bought me BOTH a pair of Ugg boots and a pair of Manolos!!!!! How is that for making up for lost time?

On to the shoes. I found this picture on the intranet...but I will take more pics when I get home from work!!!

MB Nefasta Pink.jpg

With the job market we had a pretty extremely small christmas
I got
-500 dollar gift card to target from my parents (for groceries and things)
-42 in. plasma tv which also was our gift to each other and also rock band 2 (we only got this because our tv broke down and we didnt want to pay for our cable tv for no reason, otherwise we never would have gotten it)

From my parents:
A Coach bag. (Yummy black, and huge!! I love it!!)

And my one big gift under the Christmas tree (we agreed to go small this year and just do stockings and one present since we are getting married in a about 3 months or so. )

I was thrilled...BECAUSE....

there were DIAMOND EARRINGS under the tree for me for our wedding!!

They are from the same jeweler who made my rings, and they are 1/3 cttw round set in white gold. (my FI "thinks") bless him...but I didn''t want to pry for more info...so I''m sure I can take a peek later.THEY SURE SPARKLE THOUGH!!!

We had discussed earrings for me, but I had thought that they were WAY out of our budget right now....so I was in no way expecting it!! I''ll have to post pics soon.

:)ILE

I didn''t think i was going to get a gift this year, because SO and i agreed not to exchange gifts. But he surprised me anyway and got me a great jewelry armoire - it stands about 4 feet tall and has room for EVERYTHING in it!!!! I have a ton of jewelry, but most of it''s junk - and it''s everywhere around the house - SO said it was a gift for the both of us because my accessories were driving him crazy - lucky me!

Oh, and of course chocolate and lots of it!

Fi and I decided (and promised each other) not to buy a single thing for each other this year. (I am not trying to be preachy and I don''t want anyone to think this is aimed at them!).

We really have everything we want. Sure there are things we could get each other, but I think you can get carried away with the whole buying presents for the sake of presents thing. Christmas is just so commercialised. I am not even remotely religious, so it''s nothing to do with that. We just didn''t want to spend money for the sake of it when we are having our dream wedding this year.

We had a really quiet year this year, my family was interstate, and we only saw his family for dinner. Which meant we would bum around in our jammies all day and watch DVDs on the couch. It was fabulous. No tree, no tons of presents we spent a fortune on for nothing, just spending time with each other. It was great!!!! I didn''t even for a second miss the tree, the presents etc. We had a nice bottle of wine on the couch starkers together
11.gif
and slept half the day away. I want a Christmas like that every year!!!!

This is almost as much fun as getting presents! Seeing what you all got is a thrill in and of itself! I remember one Celine Dion quote in which she said, "Birthday? No, I didn't get this watch for my birthday present. Every day is my birthday." LOL.

Lots of you got the Wii... I HIGHLY recommend Big Brain Academy! It is so much fun to play together. It's basically a game in which you do a bunch of really really fun brain teasers -- memory, math and spatial reasoning. OK, the way I describe it isn't fun but trust me... we have so much fun on this thing. The Wii fit I don't use so much. I don't get a good enough workout!

I wonder which games bee* got?
31.gif

And movies! Yay for Hairspray! And the Labyrinth/Dark Crystal box set?
3.gif
AWESOME.

merrymunky, this is going to sound weird, but I covet your flying monkey catapult toy that screeches. That sounds like a blast! LOL.

Lots of ladies got shoes! Frye boots!!! Sugary, I love 'em too!

OMG, Emeraldlover1's Jimmy Choo ankle boots are KILLIN' me! I'm dying! *faint*

On the Christmas being commercialized note - because honey22 made such good points, I wanted to add that I agree in part. The funny thing is, all of us told each other not to get each other anything... we didn't need anything. I totally agree it's a commercialized holiday. But then I remember before my grandmother died she used to say that all the time. And when she was gone, I felt badly that at Christmas we didn't celebrate the small things. It didn't have to be expensive... so I guess I go in reverse. My mom always tells me not to get her anything but she means so much to me no amount of money I spend on her is too much. I want to always remember I did everything I could for her, spoiled her rotten and loved her to death. That brings me a lot of joy. To see her toting her new LV bag and wearing my Burberry trench and beaming...that is priceless to me. I think it brings me more joy to give her these things than for her to receive them.

Honey22, your Christmas sounds divine. That's my idea of a Christmas night!!!

I love staying in. Heaven.

From FI - david yurman necklace that I returned and am going to pick something else out instead. (prob a white juicy outfit to wear on the plane to our honeymoon in japan)

From Parents - christmas plates, cups etc in a pattern that I love, some dream dinners, they''re paying for our calligraphy for invitations, "love quotes" blue pashmina

From little sister - VS pink PJ pants (exchanging for different ones)

From Grandparents - cash

From FI''s parents - luggage set for me and FI for our honeymoon

From FI''s grandma - cash and PITT sweatshirt

From FI''s sister - perfume

From cousin (polyanna) - scarf and Sephora GC

From Secret Santa at work - pink Banana Republic sweater

From FI (so far, we have yet to "do Christmas" with his parents)
-Wine decanter
-EMU (another version of Uggs) slippers so I''ll stop stealing his. They''re dark brown suede with the lamby inside
-Beautiful DKNY black thigh length wool coat. Desperately needed a new one since the old black wool coat was on its 4th season. I got it for 1/4 of the original price at Filene''s Basement in NYC.
-Year of gym membership to LA Fitness.

From Parents (to FI and I)
-Set of serving bowls
-Gift card to Home Depot towards purchasing a new washing machine because ours electrocutes us once in a while
-Plethora of other gift cards, most of which will be hoarded for the wedding.
-Wine Decanter (I guess FI and my Dad didn''t plan that out well...)
-Salad servers
-Other items that escape me at the time... we had to send our gifts up to Vermont via FI''s cousin (whom he met up with in Mass) to be brought back down to our area by his parents who are currently in VT. Quite possibly the most convoluted way to get gifts from RI to PA EVER. There was no way we were bringing all that on the plane.

From Parents
-Running shoes
-US jewelery cleaner
-Perfume
-Aquamarine bracelet

I got FI
-Phillies World Champions OSHA certified hard hat
-Package of 6 pairs of tickets to share with his father (went in on this with FMIL)
-Calvin Klein button down shirt
-Two silk ties
-Socks
-Brutool- a cross between a Black and Tan spoon and bottle opener
-Flight of the Conchords CD
-Two framed front pages of local newspapers from the day after the Phillies won the World Series.

I got a few small things from family/FI, such as candles, handmade jewelry, snow gear for our upcoming snowboard trip.

I got FI a tool storage chest he''s needed for years - he''s so excited to use it!

The two things that I''m especially excited about are my Waterford ring holder from FI, and our new Nikon D90 from my parents. We are super excited and have been playing with it since we got it. And we''re so appreciative too, b/c it''s something we''ve wanted/needed for quite some time.

We all tried to be practical and get people a few things they really needed instead of lots of small things they didn''t. It makes me happy to help somebody out and make them happy with something they''ve wanted. And FI and I still got to relax around for most of the day, and our family all takes time to remember the true reason we celebrate Christmas too.

Good holidays... it''s good to be reminded of how blessed you are.
