This is a totally random question, but what do you do with old cell phones and chargers? I have three old phones and 6 chargers (home and car), and they''re just taking up space in a junk drawer. I''ve seen drop-off boxes where you can donate old phones but I''ve never done it before. I''m assuming the battery would just get tossed in the trash before hand. I hate spending money on something that I can''t use in a couple years'' time. It drives me nuts.

Around here local domestic violence agencies collect them (with the batteries) for distribution to women at risk for domestic violence (so they have a phone at their disposal to call for help if they need it). I always donate them there.

I donate the old cell phones with the chargers. The chargers that are usually left...I sell on e-bay. LOL

Definitely Donate them or send them to a recycling program! They seem to be all over the place.
Around here the post office has free pre-paid plastic envelopes that you can take to send your old phone/charger/battery in for recycling.

Thats what I do too.

Our local domestic violence agencies take them.

How about donating them to Cell Phones For Soldiers.

Donate them!!! To any organization of your choice...They are ALL in need!!

I know that with some groups you don''t even need the charger...

These are all great ideas! Thank you!

i donate them to various organizations, but always make sure to keep at least one on hand in case mine konks out and I need an emergency relplacement (it''s happened before!)

I do the same. Or, if you can''t find an organization like that, try Goodwill.

Tessa plays with my old phone. She *LOVES* it. But since you don''t have any children I think donating it is a great idea. I would take out the SIM card though.

Now that you mention it, my kids at school have occasionally brought in *their* (parents) cell phones. I was shocked to see this once, until I realized that it didn''t work. The kid who had it thought he was the cool kid with a cell phone (at 7 years old).

Zoe, haha. I think Tessa will figure out before age 7 that it is broken. Also I just remembered that Best Buy will recycle any old electronics you have. Maybe phones are included.

there is a drop box at our grocery store that takes them...the chargers I usually just toss cuz for some reason they always conk out before the actual phone.
