My #2 was a ten-pounder too (10lbs 7oz to be exact) and I could barely move by 7 months! I don''t think you''re normal.

I loved the *idea* of pregnancy and the anticipation of getting ready for baby, but the physical pregnancy? Gaa. I was huge and miserable for three months straight all four times. I always said pregnancy was way worse than labor.

And how''s this for a question from strangers: ''OMG when are you due?! You look like you''re about to pop!'' Extra great when you still have three months to go. Good times . . .
LOL!!! Oh that didn''t offend me, I''d be like YEAH I KNOW I''M HUGE!! lol grinning :D

yours was bigger than mine... my dd was born 2.5 weeks early and was 9lbs 2.25oz and boy #1 was born 4 days past due date at 10lbs 1oz and boy #2 was born 7 days early at 10lbs 3.5 oz LOL The three combined are close to 30 pounds! I am NOT one of those spring back into shape women either (I hate them!!! lol)

I have only been asked a few times, and I say a carat and a half. (it''s 1.52)

Only a couple of friends and I have REALLY gotten into the specifics, since I upgraded, but it doesn''t bother me to share that info. I have no reason to hide it and for the ones who are still single, I think it is a good way to get an idea of what you will pay...
I don''t think I can share the $$ of it. Which is really weird because I have NO problem talking about our investments or husband''s income or mortgage info, what we paid for cars, retirement accounts, tax info - none of that is particularly private to me OR my husband... but I don''t know if I can tell anyone what I spent on a DIAMOND even though there are people here who have spent over 10x more than I did LOL I''ll have to ask him if he is going to keep it private or not...

HI, Cehra,

I was looking for one of your threads so I could say that maybe we can start a trend of wider than 2.5mm bands since they are far more durable! Lol! Mine will each be 3mm, and that is still thin looking to me! My 3mm wedding band will have 10 point stones, so I wouldn''t want to go narrower and sacrifice those! Tacori E-ring is already ahead of the trend with 6mm e-ring and 2mm w-band. I agree with you that your stone would look too large for a thin band. You could do a split shank to get the illusion of a wider band, though.

As to this question, my old diamond was 1.02, so obviously I always said a carat. The new diamond is 1.63, so that isn''t quite as clear cut. I think if someone with a tiny diamond asks me, I''ll say about one and a half carats, and if someone has a large diamond, I''ll say 1.6. It does sort of depend on who asks. I doubt I''ll get many questions from anyone other than relatives, and I''ll tell them 1.6. I could sort of seeing you doing the same thing...saying around 2 cts. to people to whom you''re wanting to minimize it, and 2.7 to others.

Most wouldn''t dare ask around here, but I did have a gal in the docs office comment on how sparkly my ring was. She then did ask how big it was, and before I could answer, guessed 1.5. I told her she was close, slightly under, 1.4.

If anyone else ever asks, I would just say slightly under 1.5.

But she did confirm I''m getting the 1.5 look.

Ellen you can be in the wider than 2.5mm band group, too! (We were talking about ring durability with all the recent problems with soft, thin platinum bands)

I will proudly represent the wider bands!

I''ll have to wait and see to some extent... but right now I''m thinking I''ll say either "over two" or "over two and a half" unless they really push then I''ll probably give an obnoxious amount of info:

"ooooh how big is your ring?"
"its over two carats"
"how much over two?"
"it''s over two and a half"
"what is it exactly?"
"2.71 J VS2 old mine brilliant cushion with a 1.26:1 ratio"

hehehehehe Of course if they really say "how big is your ring" I might just say four carats bahahahaha (tw)

it''ll be a while before I have my ring but that would be fun!! At least start a thread for them LOL I''m tossing about having it wider than 6mm and going somewhere between 6-8. I don''t want to go a full 9.5 because I want *some* overhang, but at 7.5 there would be a full mm overhang on each side... 5 is a tad too thin... I''m thinking 6.5-7.5 and that I think gives me plenty of room for my diamonds... speaking of, I really want to start a thread that focuses on my ring production so I can ask questions and get thoughts without starting a million threads lol SMTR isn''t right and I don''t know that rocky talky is right... maybe they should have a forum about building rings LOL Help Me Design My Ring LOL
