What do you think of this sapphire? Also what's the highest you'd go without a certification?

Also- I have limited time to reply as well, so my answers are almost always rushed. Let me be a bit clearer- I'm in a bit of a hurry for a pad, and no rush for a blue. But when I see one I like it almost always gets sold before I can buy it, so I may rush to ask about it. I'm having a hard time with the blue search because of my pickiness and trying to be flexible. My criteria at the moment is at the very least for it to have good color and minimal window and 500-800. So I can't be specific enough for anyone to answer. I'm just going to not buy for a while and mull it over now.

Remember this process should be fun.
I recommend just purchasing what you can afford and what you love.
You do contradict yourself several times in your threads.

I also recommend just looking for one stone at a time and avoid being impuslive unless you immediately love it, and in that case if you do you wont need our opinions on the stone.

Good luck! =)2 I hope you find what youre looking for or better yet decide on what you're looking for.

I totally understand that desire to buy something to keep you going. I’ve done that myself with my lab sapphire. It’s in a beautiful diamond halo setting which was considerably more expensive than the stone. My intention was to replace the sapphire with a diamond later on. I’m so happy with the ring that I’m not going to change it.

You are always going to see things you want if you keep shopping. Maybe buy something and stop searching?

I took a look at that. It's so pretty. No measurement information so I'll have to ask her. I saw this pretty girl and thought about it too but it costs almost 3 times as much

BTW, thanks for all the help voce!

I really like the stone in your picture, in fact I am 99.99% sure that is a stone I bought about 1 1/2 years ago from a PS’er, lol. I have that picture on file from the seller and the stone is very nice. Did you see it listed for sale somewhere? I am just curious since I’m not selling the stone.

So are you saying that you own the stone that is in the picture?
Or that you purchased it but returned it some time ago?

She owns the stone. It’s possible someone stole the photo. Apparently it’s quite common for eBay vendors to steal photos of stones and rings that have been posted on PS.

Did they at least crop the photo?
And you always hear about the trickery of the gem trade but it saddens me when its put in my face.

Eeep.....Well @Shijitake whoever that vendor is, I'd run the other way if that is indeed her sapphire.
Whatever stone they're selling, that isnt it.
If it is her stone I would name the vendor so we can all stay away.

It's from Diamond Bistro. I don't have time to search for the link right now. It's possible you bought it and she never closed the listing. I cropped the picture bc the photo wouldn't paste here without me using paint first and saving for some reason.

I’d say, start with reading old sapphire posts. Be patient and you’ll glean much from old pics and discussions.

That's good to hear! I was a little worried there might be something funny going on like what @peacechick mentioned. I think you will find the perfect sapphire when you are ready to purchase one =)2

You sound like I was when I was first looking. Sorta Ricochet Rabbit....liking everything. Lol. I finally narrowed down exactly what I wanted and have been on a very long hunt for the one - very picky here. Almost there but it’s a process so don’t lose hope.

I will say I’d caution at the words unheated vs untreated......maybe it’s just me but I want it to say unheated (with credible papers) or else I assume heated. That being said, there’s nothing wrong with heated. Heated is usually more budget friendly and the heat enhances color. Nothing wrong with it.

Best of luck in your search!
