+1 for home renovations. Our home now is pretty new (2005) but the materials other than the windows are meh. Lots of orangey tile etc in the kitchen, etc. We redid the exterior and I replaced some light fixtures but we have a long way to go.

I don't like waste-age or really things in general so try to be very purposeful with what I buy. I especially don't like the impact on the environment to make something, ship it across the world, and then dispose of it (in the ocean).

I live a 10-hr flight away from my family though and I wish had the b*lls to buy a business class seat for flights home. I "think" I can afford it but the 20 X price tag for something that lasts only a few hours gets me and I just can't do it.
