There''s really no point to this post except to see how people are spending their Christmas Eve Eve.

I''ve been baking all day... its our gift to DH''s siblings. Funny how he hasn''t helped at all

. I''ve made Chocolate Chip Pecan Cookies, Chocolate Almond Bark, Gingerbread Men (my first time!), and Honey Wheat Bread in mini-loaves. I''ve also been waiting all day for UPS to deliver one of hubby''s gifts. Their day ends at 7:00pm but apparenly they have until 11:59 tonight to deliver! I haven''t been able to go anywhere and haven''t had time to eat. Plus I''ve had to keep DH away from the house since he got off of work so that he doesn''t seen the UPS guy bring a giant box to the door.

All of my hubby''s siblings, except for one, are in town for Christmas and they are staying here (we live with DH''s parents). It is great having people around and stuff to do. I did some Snickerdoodles last week and another batch right before his brother and sister flew in from their respective homes in St. Louis and Denver.

Christmas day is always hectic for us. We are going to my parents first thing in the a.m. to do presents/breakfast then it''s off to my aunt''s house for brunch with my aunts, uncles and cousins, then it''s back home for presents/more food and then dinner with my parents at their house. It''s going to be a long day for us. This is also baby''s first Christmas so it''s extra special to have our little guy here with us. We remember that last year I was early in my pregnancy and feeling miserable so it''s nice to feel good this year.

We''re just hanging out at our house tonight getting things packed up and baking a couple of loaves of bread (one French, one whole wheat). Yesterday I made a garlic/sun-dried tomato cheese ball and some parmesan pesto dip to bring with us for Christmas to Mr.L''s brother''s house and we baked two other loaves of bread (rye & wheat)

Tomorrow we''ll be driving to Duluth (MN) to the brother''s house and the whole family will be there from Wed. until Sunday. There will be 12 of us and 5 dogs - it will be crazy, but fun. Since there are no parents around any more (their mom passed a way a few years ago and their dad met a crazy evil woman and moved away and doesn''t speak to them anymore) we plan on playing games, watching movies, and having video game tournaments on the networked xBoxes (yes, we''re all dorks!). We might leave the house to take the 4 nephews sledding, but that''s about it, otherwise we''ll be in pjs & sweats for 5 days, just relaxing and enjoying the holiday.

I''m spending the day with family in the midwest and baking a couple of pies. I grew up on a farm (parents still have it), so there is very little to do besides bake...I''m even on dial-up right now! D was thinking of driving out with Byron on Saturday, but because of the weather he decided to fly down to New Orleans with a friend for a few days because the flight was cheap and he''s never been. At least we''re in the same time zone this year...that''s about at close as we''ve ever been over Christmas!

I am babysitting my friend's children while they are at work. I made a huge pot of chicken and dumplings yesterday, so today we are just gonna hang out! We (my husband and I, NO children aloud) watch Bad Santa every Christmas Eve. I know it's SOOOO distasteful, but it's hilarious!!!

I am cooking buffet food, getting hot with both ovens on as it is so mild here....

Working.

Luckily they are letting us go home around 2! After work FI and I are having lunch with a woman I went to college with. I haven''t seen her since graduation so I''m super excited about it.

I''m going to work early to have breakfast where all the managers cook. And hopefully very little work. And then when I get home, hopefully around 12, we''ll head out to BF''s parents house where we''re doing Christmas today since his brother works tomorrow and his SIL leaves tomorrow morning.
Yesterday I made mac and cheese, so that should be tasty with dinner tonight.

I did laundry and packed (somewhat) for my flight home today. Now I am at work waiting to leave and spend Eve and the rest of the week with my family back in Dallas!!

When I was with my ex... his family celebrated "Christmas Adam". Their entire family got together and did a chinese gift exchange. It was neat, we got to celebrate 3 days in a row.

I''m working (not very hard though)...not sure what time I''ll be leaving, but when I go home I''m starting laundry and then putting on something comfy and cozy and watching Christmas movies with my parents and my dog. I''m really looking forward to it!!!

Today I am tidying the flat up and getting the laundry and ironing done etc.

Tomorrow after opening our presents that are here, we will be driving over to my FI''s house where we will stay till Boxing Day (Friday for those of you in USA who don''t know what Boxing day is!) We will be helping FI''d Dad to make the Christmas Dinner as his Mum has put her back out again so that should be fun!

Boxing Day we come home, dump our overnight bags and the rest of our presents then go over the road to my parents house for the afternoon. My uncle is making a visit too so that will be nice. I don''t see him much.

Christmas Eve party tonight, luminarias tonight (eek, I completely forgot, I need lunch bags) off to get those!

Skippy, don''t forget to slow down and enjoy the day--wow! You are a busy lady!!! Put your comfies on later and settle in for a long winter''s nap, ha ha!

Because of the wreck and the flight situation, it was easier for our folks to fly in, so Christmas is at our house this year. We had planned on being in Atlanta, but I''m happy to be able to spend Christmas here. It would have been our 3rd time flying with Savannah and Gray. Gray really doesn''t like to fly.

Since we''re cooking dinner here. I had to take my MIL to get some groceries. I''m actually heading out in a few minutes because I need to go pick up a few pieces of All Clad.

So far, I''ve baked two cakes and made the sugar cookie dough. I don''t have an molasses on hand, so that''s on my list because we''re making gingerbread men (and maybe a house). I have the lamb marinating in the fridge. I have the Cornish hens out ready to be cleaned and seasoned. I''m sure I have other things I need to be doing. Definitely some more baking in the works.

I need to go into NYC to Nintendo World and Build A Bear for some last minute gifts.

And we have to pack for our ski trip.

hehe that sounds nice; I will be able to relax tomorrow night. I can't believe I just had a 15 min conversation with my 2 year nephew! lol Funny little guy; my mom says he even took the phone to the fireplace so I could see the fire. haha I will think of you tonight Monnie!!

Erica, darn, that slow postal service.

Bummer to working, sending you a hug!

hehe

Oobiecoo, yum to homemade bread; I bet your house smells wonderful!!

Lorelei, yum to a buffet!

My dad lives here in town, so we have Christmas Eve at his house. A simple chili supper, with some homeade dessert goodies, followed by opening gifts. My sister, her husband, one of their daughters or maybe all three, DH and I.

Then DH and I will go pick up an elderly friend who needs a ride, and take her to our church''s Midnight Mass. We will sleep in tomorrow; I''ll throw a pie in the oven, make a pot roast requested by the hubby, wrap our gifts to each other, and watch our favorite Christmas movie(s). We exchange gifts after dinner. Quiet and simple with just us two. We love it that way!

I''m completely exhausted just reading this list of last minute must-dos! God bless you and give you strength!
