Wow, I could get a nice sized eternity band for one night''s work!!!Date: 1/4/2005 10:33:40 PM

Great question and nice thread...
I''ll keep my request modest. I''ll buy the center diamond for a 3 stone ring if she says yes... (probably 3/4 - 1 Carat F/G VS-SI1, and I have the sides). That''s all the handy cash I got.
Info for MMM. Steetwalking does not pay well. Discreet visits with exclusive clientell do (I was currious and searched the web a few years back - saw adds then up to $2500 per evening + all expenses).

speaking of stockings Noobie, what did your DW end up getting in hers?
I can''t remember everything, but in addition to the bracelet, there was some D&G Light Blue, some condiments from Williams Sonoma, Aveda stuff, West Wing 3rd season, some chocolates, there''s something I''m forgeting though. The kitchen scale and satin PJs from Victoria''s Secret didn''t fit in the stocking. Speaking of VS, I get three catalogues a week now. It''s ridiculous. The Christmas gift was one of those big KitchenAid mixers
Next year, I''ll have to do a better job on the bracelet.
I''m still sitting on that 65 point loose diamond. I need to find a match for it, but pickings are so slim in the range I''m looking for. As long as I find something by Mother''s Day, I''ll be fine.
What did you get? (I''m banking ideas for future years)
I will. It''s always a challenge for me come stocking time. To be honest it''s much easier to buy sparkles, then to come up with little things that you hope one will appreciate (easy cop out)Date: 1/5/2005 1:20:22 AM

Ask again next year.... it''s a fun challenge to think of small things you would love to get besides the sparkles.
Which necklace did you get? I love her stuff. . .all items looks great with t-shirts as well as fancy outfits. I have the starfish and also the floating heart. On a spontaneous urge I ordered two additional necklaces online which was a huge mistake. Both looked bad on meDate: 1/5/2005 3:100 AM

this year he got me this Elsa Peretti Tiffany silver necklace I have been eyeing...
Noobie -- you and DH could bond over this. If he had his way, he would line our entire hallway with wine chillers, even if we had to walk sideways down it to go to bed.Date: 1/5/2005 4:41:48 PM

I got wine things too. A new print and magazine box for my room and a huge decorative vase to put old corks in. I've already have too many decanters, glasses and openers. My big gift was a couple of new Eurocaves that I had to buy to replace the wine cellar that bit the dust. It was kinda bittersweet since I took the old one to the dump and was no further ahead in storage capacity. It's like buying a 1 carat diamond and throwing the one you have out.
Back to the original topic, my 2005 diamond goals are to find a matching 65 point diamond to the one I bought in November for a pair of studs. I'm matching them myself for the fun of it; and maybe a bracelet or necklace, more likely a bracelet.
My ex gave me the Elsa Peretti silver disc necklace a few years ago and I LOVE it. I don''t know if there is a picture on line or not -- I know there didn''t used to be. I have a funny story about that actually...I was at a conference in Chicago last year and stopped by one of the vendors (actually one of my competitors) just to shoot the breeze, and noticed that she was wearing the same necklace (I didn''t have mine on at the time). I commented on it -- said excitedly that I have the same one -- and that little snoot says to me, "really? Well, my boyfriend bought this at Tiffanys". I then commented on how much I love it -- and that I love the whole Elsa Peretti line. She VERY SNOOTILY retorted, "um, this isn''t Elsa whatever -- it''s TIFFANY!" haha. well, I nicely informed her that Elsa Peretti is a line CARRIED by Tiffanys. durh. She felt like a dingdong. guess that''s what you get for being a little butthead! My very gay friend Keith was with me, and he LOVES to re-tell the story. He was ALL OVER the drama of it, as you can imagine.Date: 1/5/2005 3:100 AM

Don''t worry lop...you aren''t the only one with a husband who has a fancy for practical items. Greg always manages to give me a few kitchen utensils or something like a new handvac for xmas...though he does usually spice it up with *something* fun...this year he got me this Elsa Peretti Tiffany silver necklace I have been eyeing...so I forgave him the wrapped garlic olives and egg timer when I saw the blue box.
Heeee heee that''s a funny story! Thanks for sharing it. Nothing like gently putting a little snoot right in her place.Date: 1/5/2005 7:40:27 PM

Mara, I love your necklace. Very pretty and in style yet not trendy and seen on everyone who walks by (which unfortunetly is the case with our floating hear necklacesDate: 1/5/2005 5:36:12 PM

Exactly why I wanted it too! To wear with jeans and sweaters and especially to jazz up some of my winter black stuff. It''s a fairly substantial piece, heavy, and the Quad measures about 1.25'', so it''s a nice larger piece but not overwhelming. I love it!
Here''s an image. I also have the Peretti heart and I covet a few others as well.
Hey, I was in the mall today and for entertainment purposes (or before walking into Tiffany''s this was the case. . .) lol, but I went and tried on your pendant. It is really cute. I guess this design just came out in the fall so this explains the sudden appearance on the web site and why nobody is yet wearing it!I found this back in October but it''s odd, it would show up intermittently on their site...most of the time I could only find their black silk cord version of it, and then would have to find the all silver version in a roundabout, surf around and click on various links type way. But today I found it right away. So who knows what else you may find on there!!
I also liked it because I have not seen one person wear it (yet)...whereas as you note, the floating heart thing is totally played out. I''ll sit on the floating heart until it''s been long forgotten and then I''ll wear it again!
You took the words right out of my mouth!! Although if I didn''t have to work and could still buy diamonds, I would be ok with that option also.Date: 1/3/2005 4:43:50 PM

Haha when I was shopping after Xmas I was thinking the same thing..what does with the necklace??
ahhh, it says there''s an error for my necklace shot and picture is too big or small for my kitty one!!! GRRRR! Why? This happened once before and I waited until the next day and all was good. . . but today, this isn''t the case. Where is Sevens One when I need her???Date: 1/7/2005 2:49:58 PM

Oh no!!!! I''d offer to do it for you but I ask sevens/one to do mine!!! You MUST post!!!
Okay, thanks for the explanation. My camera must have been set to high resolution. . .I never pay attention to stuff like this and my husband complained the other day because I filled our storage card with only like 15 pictures so it wouldn''t be too surprising if I set it wrong again. lolDate: 1/7/2005 3:29:46 PM
