Ya know, the status symbol thing bugs me. My dad does well for himself. His house is in one of the most expensive and *prestigious* areas in town. My mom wore clothes from Wal-mart. Her black leather Coach purse? Had a 1/4 inch layer of dust on it when I pulled it down from the top of the closet. We have Japanese vehicles-Honda, Nissan and Toyota. I have walked into boutiques with money to burn, had salespeople look down their noses at me because I was wearing sweats, and walked back out of the store without spending a dime. Appearance and the things a person wears means nothing to me. People with class...don''t show off with their material goods (IMHO) and those that do--are trying to hard.

George Maloof Jr. is the son of George Maloof Sr. who built his empire from the bottom up. Because of his humble beginnings, he would often dress a step above that of a homeless person, even though he could obviously afford more, but he wanted to see how people treated him when they thought he didn''t have money. Fascinating study in people right there.

I don''t own any name brand stuff-the closest I get is my MAC makeup and my silver Tiffany ring. I don''t consider my shoes to be a status symbol either-even though more than a few are designer names. I buy stuff I like, and avoid stuff I don''t like. There are a lot of designer shoes that I wouldn''t touch with a ten foot pole.


I''ve decided I need Chanel nails like Thing2''s kitty...I need to get more into this designer thing. Gotta look the part.

well, this is CLEARLY low quality. I think I see something on it. You should clean it in one of those sonic things. Plus mine are much darker. We all know "D" is for 'dark'.
