Round brilliant, but at the moment I''m DYING for a cushion!

I used to want an emerald cut. Then I tried stuff on and realized that I was a classic girl so I set my sights on a round brilliant. Then I discovered cushion cuts. I ended up with an 8-main pavilion cushion so its faceted on the pavilion like an RB but the top is all vintage chunky looking like a cushion. It has stunning light performance. In the future I would love an antique cut (OMC, OEC, etc) right hand ring but first I need to set my grandmothers 1/2 carat RB into something worthy of an heirloom stone.

I''m an RB girl myself but I would totally love a beautiful pear cut on the "fatter" side rather than the long ones that resemble marquis cuts.

I always loved the classic look of a RB solitaire

, so I knew I wanted one for my engagement ring--and that's what my FI gave me

After finding PS, I learned about cushions, and am now completely in love with them. I'd like one for a RHR at some point.

Fun topic! Well, I have fallen hard for oval solitaire''s so hopefully I will be given one soon! BF seems content to choose this cut as well, and the rest of the setting, etc. are up to him.

Round brilliant solitaire! (with a thin pave band, drool)

I really want an asscher or emerald cut, my third choice is probably a cushion cut, but I really don''t think there any cuts I don''t like!

Purselover, we have the same tastes! This is my order of preference as well.

at this point i need to stop looking because i keep falling in love with different shapes every other month... my boy really likes the "pretty round" ones!!! i love it when he talks about diamonds, it''s toooo cute!!!

I love the simplicity and classic look of a nice RB, but soemthign totally pulls me to a cushion cut.
I don''t know....
When we really start looking I''ll need to see some cushions in real life!

I think I love them both thoguth....

I have an OEC/transitional. I didn''t pick it as it was inherited from FI''s family, but I fell in love with it and now I can''t imagine having anything else. Though I wouldn''t mind getting a cushion or a square cut some time later in life

I''d have been thrilled with any cut-corner square or a chunky cushion, but it was my asscher that spoke to me

A classic round diamond is what I would most like to have! (After much thought within the past year

I''m with News Girl... I LOVE a fat pear! But have never been able to try one on..so I might change my mind after

I also love RBs and ovals!

Yay!!! I haven''t found as many people who love the oval like I do. You have great taste lol. I just think the oval has a certain vintage/unique look to it

I am not an oval girl, but I think an Oval with a halo looks so classy and tasteful!

I have a Lucida and love it with all my heart.

I have an asscher and I love it

. I have even found myself doing things that involve my hands differently so I can catch a glimpse of it from time to time

I have a princess and I catch myself staring at it constantly! It just sucks my eyes right in and doesn''t let go!!

I have an emerald cut. They have always been my favorite! I must stop buying emerald cuts though...I have two EC natural aquas that I have no idea what to do with. I also have square emerald earings. Must learn to love other shapes.

You can send that aqua to me, and we''ll each wear one as "something blue" for our weddings

AWW...thanks kitty. At the moment I''m tryng to decide if I want to use both stones in a necklace. One is slightly bigger than the other and one is more of a blue/green color. I thought about using them as my something blue but I just don''t know yet.

That''s my take. Plus my BF has already been CRAMMED with the RB stats to look for, he knows about the Cs, but i feel if I throw another C at him (that C being Cushion) he might go loopy. Here is to hoping he let''s me pick it out!

I''ve always wanted a princess...until I tried on the EC. I LOVE how elegant and crystal clear they are!

I have an EC and LOVE it!

I love hearing about what everyone wants to have or has as their e-ring
30.gif

I love EC''s as well. Correct me if im wrong, but I always had the impression that EC''s need to be really high in their C''s because of they way the are cut. Flaws are much easier to spot in an EC. So for that reason I kinda of stayed away thinking I would have to pay much more for the same carat in a RB. But if you find a good one, they look gorgeous. I would love to have one down the line as a RHR.

I love EmeraldLover and KittyBean....best Emeralds I have seen

My taste in jewelry has always run toward filigree, engravings, and white metal... so it is no surprise that I fell in love with an OEC set in an antique repro band. It throws off amazing fire, particularly in low light. I really love the old cuts.

That isn''t always the case. It seems to be harder to find EC''s with lower clarity that are eye clean but I guess they do occasionally come up. If you focus the most on cut (polish and symetry for starters) you may be able to relax a little on the color. It all depends on the stone. Mine is a J for example and I bet in real life you would never guess it.

I think all shapes are beautiful in their own way (I''m an equal-opportunity ogler
3.gif
), but my favourite has always been round brilliants. I just love the combination of their symmetry and sparkle.
