What size is this diamond

I adore your ring!!!

Thanks so much for posting those pics of the profile -- seriously helpful! (And fun eye candy too.)

DSS is such a funny thing (and so real!) Your ring seems huge to the rest of us, but, *sigh* I totally understand having it seem to shrink before your own eyes.

So welcome. Your stone is truly one of my favorites. Hope you can figure it out. Of course I'm biased but I think a 3 stone would be perfect.

First off -- OMG that antique three stone! Where did you find it? (And why didn't it follow you home?)

To answer your question about how to go about an EC or other fancy shaped upgrade, the only options I know of are Blue Nile / James Allen, or a brick and mortar jewelry store with an upgrade policy. I would go in knowing the policy would make upgrading a pain, and have more restrictions that at WF, but at least with patience and planning I could do it.
I saw it at a local store that often carries antique pieces, and it was several years ago. If I am remembering correctly, this was newly made with older stones. And it didn’t follow me home because I was not in the market for an upgrade at the time! It was also very warm and very big, and it truly took me by surprise how much I liked it. It was when I couldn’t get it out of my head later that I realized that ohh, I may be a bit more blingy at heart than I thought, and hmm, perhaps I am ok with warmth (at least in old cuts). Now, I’m still on the fence as to my ideal ”someday” ring. I love them all. Old, new, MRBs, step cuts…. Sigh. I like a solitaire, but I definitely have a weakness for three stones, and I blame that ring. SO FABULOUS. (Incidentally, the photos really don’t do it justice—when moving it was just a large chunk of rainbow pastels.)

Agree! Dainty is GORGEOUS. And @LLJsmom , your three stone is just perfection. I am about on the floor imagining Dainty at the center of her own three stone. It would be just unbelievable.

At any rate, @RunningwithScissors , if you need enabling on this journey, just look my way. Happy to help!

Is it my imagination, or does the camera also make a stone look larger? My (no-where near this size) stone looks average on my hand in real life, but when I see it in pictures it looks much larger (and I secretly hope that it looks this large to the casual observer too;-)

Not your imagination. Pics of my ring make stone look SOOOO MUUUUUCCCCHHH larger than what i see IRL, without camera lens. would love if IRL view matched how it looks in photos

I'd guess your inspo diamond is in the 2.5 - 2.9 range.

"Dainty", my 2.5 ct CBI, on my size 4.5 finger, looks a tiny bit (but not much) larger than your inspo pic.

Of the three photos below, I believe the last one most closely resembles what the *human eye* sees (not what a camera lens sees which can distort perspective and relative size). The middle photo looks much larger than what I see when looking at the ring on my hand in person.

(And to be completely honest, I've been feeling DSS. I didn't originally think I'd want to go any larger...but once I got accustomed to the size, now I do!)

This is the first time I'm seeing your solitaire! Wow, she is lovely. Is she set in a Tiffany style setting? Would love to see the side profile. Great nails too.
