Based on the hallmark outside the band and, could this be an actual French Georgian ring? Some diamonds are chipped but some appear like they were not polished on every side. Definitely some have inclusions.

Is it just my imagination, or is there a single stone (in the 8 o'clock position) that looks like a rose cut? Like one fell out, and a rose cut was the closest cut they could find to replace it.

In any event, the ring definitely has a charm all its own!

I think i see that too.

Ok. So if one is a rose cut, what are the rest?

Is the back foiled?

They remind me of polki diamonds. I'll ask @AllAboardTheBlingTrain to confirm.

They don’t look like polki to me, polki is basically ALWAYS set with something foiled or reflective because otherwise they look more like slices of diamond than actual diamond. I tried to find pictures online of what polki looks like when it isn’t set.

I wonder if these are just some sort of early or disorganised rose cuts?

Oh, those are that acquired-taste cut ... the rare and elusive blob cut.
... also known as ACBWB. A Cut Below, Way Below.

So antique rose cuts, including one modern rose cut replacement?

Have you seem them in real
Life? Is that why you make this statement?

I have spent 2 days trying to figure out their personality bc they are ever changing.

Instead of getting an appraisal, I like to list my pieces on ebay to gauge interest. I did that with this ring and I have 12 watchers. Fess up if you are a watcher, please and just watching for curiosity’s sake.

Look up Mughal diamonds on Instagram. Maybe a different spelling Moghul etc. Mughal jewelry etc.

They are likely diamonds cut in India regardless starting in mid 1520s likely before 1800.

I’m not sure how they got to France though. The setting is much newer than these diamond cuts, which were used in Mughal jewelry.
