What would change your "never ever" stance in life or in jewellery?

Just for fun, anything goes!

I shall start...

I said I would never ever get another diamond, earth-mined or LGD or simulant, bigger than my 1.19ct E VS1 EC as it has huge sentimental value to me. However, if I win big money in the lottery (1M+ in USD or GBP), then I would get a bigger EC to celebrate for certain, may be a bigger OEC and a bigger heart diamond too!

I said I would never ever have children, and naturally, I am now gynae fossil. However, I shan't say no to a ready-made family if a cupid's arrow hit me between the eyes.

I said I would never ever move house and relocate again, after the torturous move I had back in 2006, and am planning to install a stair-lift in a few years time so that I can continue to live in my house. However, again, if I win big money in the lottery and can find a suitable property in my town, or a suitable plot of land so that I could build my own home, then I would consider moving again.

Over to you!

DK :))

Great subject. I learned when my sons were in elementary school not to ever say "my kids will never" because sure enough they proved me wrong, time and time again. Little Stinkers.

Then of course when becoming a Widow, I said I would never date or be in a relationship again, I just wanted to be a single old biddie who lived with my sisters like The Golden Girls, but boy was I ever wrong. I am in full force of a budding relationship with "Bill" and I am loving it.

Jewellery: there's no such thing as never ever for me, I like everything and I've change my taste as I educated myself. For example I didn't think I'll ever wear pearls, I'm a baddie and pearls are softies, for good girl types but here I am...

In life: I don't look for change yet I've done some really radical changes in my life since I left the nest, without getting into details: movie worthy some of them. Yeee Haaa!

In life: I was adamant all through my childhood and youth that I would never ever get married.
Failed at that one lol but it took 5 years of being with my now DH to convince me it was indeed the right move for us. Very happy I didn't hold to that stance

Also was quite adamant about never having (human) children. Stuck to that one (fortunately!)

In jewelry: Can't think of anything. I said I was done with major pieces and so far am holding true though if a perfect (for me) 8-10 carat emerald cut diamond fell into my lap I wouldn't be displeased haha

Jewellery:
I said I would "never ever" get a step-cut sparkly gem (diamond/moissanite) but ended up falling in love with a dainty 1 ct emerald cut moissanite ring. It's just set in 925 silver but I enjoy bringing it out once in a while and admiring how different it sparkles from a brilliant cut. Add to that: once I found out what an Octavia asscher was, I've made it my life's mission to obtain one!

Personal:
I said I was "never ever" going to break up with my boyfriend of eight years, who everyone assumed I was going to marry eventually. I finally had enough of the emotional abuse (and the psychological scars of the physical abuse from years ago never faded, either) and ended our relationship a few weeks ago. =)2

The turmoil I experienced over the back-and-forth of the breakup decision these last couple of months contributed to me staying off PS, but golly, I am glad to be back! Much catching up to do! :appl:

Welcome back @margauxmines and I hope you'll treat yourself to some nice blings to ease the pain of your breakup.

Thank you, DK! Funnily enough, because I had agonised over the breakup for months, I felt as if I've already done 98% of my grieving. Some moments here and there, but for the most part, I feel much more free and happy now!

I used to believe I’m never ever going to sell my jewelry (remaking is okay, but not selling) but of course if I need the money I would (perhaps not anything vastly sentimental though).

I said never ever to anything from Pandora. All I saw years ago were those...charm bracelets, that just weren't my aesthetic. Yesterday i bought a nice silver chain from one location to hang my new locket on. Good quality for the price I thought.
(I'm still running from those charms)

Spouse's opinion. She has proved herself right on all of our big life decisions (e.g., where to live, number of kids -- when I wanted zero, etc.) Her small decisions, though, are all over the map :lol-2:. I (somewhat) joke that I get to make all the unimportant decisions!

Case in point: pre-pandemic, she started talking about maybe wanting to foster kids and the kid-centric argument was pretty strong. She seems to have let that one drop...

HI:

I've always said I'd never get rid of my Rolex (Yachtmaster). I wore it today for the first time in a year? This might be a sign to reverse my "never" stance because of nonuse.

cheers--Sharon

A luscious oval would set me up for life!!!! But I don't know anyone who would drop one in my lap...... :saint: :P2

Hey @canuk-gal, After someone drops an oval diamond in your lap can you please send them my way and ask them to please drop one in my lap too?
