Ewwwh, it has a huge window!
6.gif
*gasp!!*

a window means just that a window where you can see though the stone..you would be able to read print though a window (if it's big enough)..although lacking brillance you would expect in the middle I would not term that a true window and rather porr lighting or slighly improper angels..I can't see a cutter cutting a 20+ct top vivid green tsavorite with a window but maybe it is..lol......that is a world-class like 20+ ct tsavorite..one of the most expensive in the world..pulled off a"most expensive gems site"
1.gif

you see this with tanzanites a lot for some reason

Well, listing what I really want, as in intend to buy if I find, is tough because I''m a cheapskate when it comes to buying for myself. I don''t like spending over $100.00 for a stone (with occasional exceptions), so I tend to buy small examples of expensive varieties as well as waiting for bargains. I''ll spend more for ''business'' stones, but I don''t keep them ;)

Neon pink Mahenge spinel (small so that I can afford it!)

A nice vivid orange Lolilindo spessartite (this may be coming off the list when a stone I just bought arrives).

A 5 or 6mm round brilliant light to medium blue sapphire, precision cut or excellent commercial cutting.

A blue and white color zoned sapphire, any size and shape that I fall for and can afford.

A 4 to 5mm round vivid yellow sapphire.

Any and all Tsavorites I can afford - small but beautiful is okay by me. Also, at least one Merlani mint.

A round or trillion rich imperial topaz, would consider the right oval.

Anything teal. Apatite, tourmaline, zircon....if it''s teal I''m apt to buy it.

Also, I forgot - a largish kyanite with perfect sapphire blue color. I have a couple cabs and a 5mm round, but I want a larger one.

Pad
chrysoberyl (more toward yellow) or yellow sapphire or yellow diamond
Mahenge spinel - bigger than the 1.3 ct. I have. Would like it to be screaming hot pink
another blue sapphire - again bigger than the one I have. Maybe concave cut?
Demantoid
Burmese ruby - probably will never happen!
Paraiba tourmaline - won''t happen so maybe a cuprian
cobalt spinel

A pretty aqua...specifically, Yingh''s aqua. But I can''t have that, so...

A pad sapphire. There''s one in particular that I have in mind, but I''m wondering if its too saturated for what I''m looking for. At first I thought it was perfect, now, I''m not so sure.

A blue sapphire. Again, there''s one that I have in mind.
3.gif
And its completely, utterly affordable for me right now.

A lovely, glowy green gem. Unsure; maybe a tourm?

White topaz.

Freke,

Is this the attainable wish list, or the fantasy wish list thread?? LOL!

Both!

Although I left off my big fantasy gem: 5ct natural blue diamond, any shape.
9.gif

Oh and a gray diamond. Any size/shape.
2.gif

I''ve always wanted a gray diamond! And there''s only maybe 1 thread on all of PS about someone with a gray/silver diamond. Its nice to see I''m not the only one! DBL has a gorgeous 1ct gray if you''re interested
31.gif
Link. A colored diamond is one of the few times I''ve considered anything but a CS for an e-ring.

YUM DROOL! The spessartite just came off the list. "Spessie" is here and is brilliantly gorgeous - this is the spess I''ve been stalking the interwebz looking for over the last couple of months. Wheeeeee!

I would always ask David if he can discount it since it may have been up for a while, but $1600 for an almost one carat diamond is not bad. I think those are specs of dust on the stone and not inclusions. Grey diamonds always seem to have a little sleepiness to them also, so that''s something to be aware of.

Freke, your 2.92 aquamarine or either of your pink tourmaline. I stare at them everyday!

Reality list:
3+ carat powder blue spinel with minimal grey
(well I'm always on the lookout for nice colored spinels)
orangey yellow diamond (can be less than a carat)
I just got a fire opal, so I can finally cross that off.
Nicely saturated merelani mint garnet
Very finely saturated vanadium chrysoberyl (that might have to be on my fantasy list since the prices are really high, and good ones are so rare).

Fantasy list:
10+ carat Kashmir sapphire
10+ carat fancy orange pink diamond
3+ carat fancy intense to vivid green diamond
3+ carat unheated top color Burmese ruby
10+ carat Muzo mine Columbian emerald of top color and faint to no treatment (yeah, dream on or rob the Smithsonian)

Oh, and they all have to be heart shapes, just to make Freke jealous!!

LOL!

Indy I''ve got one. They don''t photograph well though because they look dull when in reality they sparkle like mad. In fact I''ve not got any photographs of it purely because I can''t get one to represent what I see! I''ll see if I can find the vendor''s photo and post that up for you. It''s odd because in some lights mine looks like a white diamond and then wham, there''s the silver/grey!

LD, I would love, love, love to see any pictures you have of it. I think that''s what the one other silver diamond thread on PS said as well; it looks white in some lights, and silver in others. Very interesting!

Seriously, is there any gem you don''t have?
3.gif

A Mahenge spinel at a decent size with top color (like chrono''s)

A paraiba blue tourmaline

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!! Fabulous!

I will definitely share pics of Spessie :D

My 5-6mm round sapphire niche *might* have been filled too, I just won a Dan Stair auction for a darkish color-changer. If I fall in love with it when it arrives, I''ll keep it for me. If it''s too dark for my taste I''ll set it and sell it as jewelry, so it''s a win either way. I might like it though, and it''s in my "personal stone" price range :D 5.24mm round.

I want pics of the silver/gray diamond too!!!!!!!!

Here is what i want.
A greenish yellow cat''s eye chrysoberyl.
Orange spessarite around 5 ct
More colourful spinels
Beautiful red ruby i''m saving my money for.
Tsavorite 4 to 5 ct.
and much2 more..

Right now I''m only allowing myself to keep a look-out for the right Rubellite Tourmaline -- otherwise I''m focused on setting projects for these next few months.

The short list:

~A large (15mm-ish) amethyst trillion for a pendant
~5-6mm Alexandrite (my birthstone)
~2.5+ ct chrome tourm square cushion to set in a Legacy-esque setting from LOGR
~2-ish ct hot pink something...probably spinel...maybe an oval?
~as many medium blue unheated sapphires as I can get a hold of...any size or shape!
~several Asschers...
~a 1+ ct. tsav pear
~1.0 ctw diamond studs

...that''s about it for now!

Here''s the kyanite I bought from Litnon(I took a pick with the lapis on my deck today). I''ve never seen this color kyanite in a cab this color though I''ve seen the ones streaked with white.

The stone is really gorgeous IRL, I can''t for the life and does not have that much of a window. I can''t for the life of me get better pictures of it.

I have three things I want now lol But I don''t know what type of stone (other than the more durable the better) so much as I know what colors I want.

1. an apricot e/w marquise in APRICOT gold. Yeah I don''t think that exists, but if you mixed yellow and rose and added white - that''s the color! lol

2. an orange-yellow stone. Right between the two. Way more yellow than a spress, but way more orange than say a yellow diamond. It''s my 2nd favorite color in the world.

3. something in the violet-blue range that had a lot of I don''t know what it''s called... movement in that range? Like a violet stone that flashes dark purple and red or a purple stone that flashes violet and blue... that stone I linked the other day is spot on for colors.

I was going to play yesterday, but this thread had disappeared on the new PS. So I''ll play while we''re still here.
37.gif

current:
*blue spinel for my college ring (another spinel is on its way soon, fingers crossed it will be the one)
*4-6mm gemstone studs - don''t care what type of stone, but I want bright red, blue, green, or yellow (have some in mind)
*not a gemstone, but I want a gold band for my thumb - I''m thinking euro shank, 2.5-3mm width

long term:
*4 2mm wide half-eternity bands - one made with aquamarines, one with citrines, one with peridots, and one with rubies
(Some of you may have seen my thread a while back about a yellow diamond band like this. It is being remade, but I
probably will sell it in the future and start over on this project. It''s a long story, but I should have done citrines
to begin with.)
*square cabs in various colors
*square faceted stones in various colors
*a great color, decent sized tsavorite
*5 color matched, unheated, untreated, well saturated light pink sapphires (somewhere between 4-6mm each) for a BGD
5-stone ring
*asschers, asschers, and more asschers - I have really taken a shine to them in the past couple of weeks

Bumpity bump bump!

Anyone taken anything off their list?

I've added to mine it seems, but I believe I've added a couple since I originally posted AND been able to take them off. (Colorless spinel and lavender spinel!) And I'm negotiating to get myself a periwinkle blue spinel...WOOT!

So, whats on your list? Or still on your list? Or has been taken off?
