For late work days, for special occasions, for everyday, for busy nights?

Are you trying to make us hungry????

Work/Busy/Every Days: Whatever my wonderful husband cooks. He works from home and makes dinner 80% of the time. I love whole wheat pasta w/ his red sauce, sole, sea bass, beet salad. He''s an amazing cook, I''m very lucky.

Special Occasions: Umm, too many to choose. If we''re talking eating out: mild fish (see above), crab cakes, risotto, filet mignon, I could go on and on.

YES!

Everyday: Herb-crusted chicken, steamed spinach or broccoli, and wild/brown rice. We eat a lot of this (I'd say 3-4 nights per week).

Busy Days: Whatever frozen stuff looked good at trader joe's!

Special Occasions: To cook - Pepper steak, stuffed chicken (usually with spinach and ricotta, rubbed with basil and thyme, topped with roasted grape tomatoes... mmmmm...), chicken kabobs. To go out for - Luau food, sushi, gyros and this amazing turkey loaf with ginger-ketchup that a place down the street makes.

Sooooo hungry right now...

Home-cooked: Chicken Piccata

Out at a restaurant: really spicy Thai food

Busy nights: sometimes I eat nothing, or just an apple and a piece of cheese

Everyday: Tacos, Grilled meat and steamed veggies (whenever we don''t have 4 feet of snow on the ground
20.gif
)

Busy days: leftovers or whatever is in the fridge! Usually a frozen pizza for him, and hummus and crackers for me.

Out to dinner: Sushi!!

Anything Italian! If I''m busy, I''ll just do pasta and sauce. If I''m feeling adventurous, I''ll make lasagna. If I''m going out, I''ll order garlic bread, pasta marinara, and veal parm or piccata.

That said, I do really enjoy a nice steakhouse dinner--filet mignon, potatoes au gratin, and wonderfully-prepared mushrooms or asparagus.

Everyday - Lean cuts of beef, chicken or pork (usually baked) with steamed vegetables and salad.

Busy days - My go-to would be my tuna cassarole. The other alternative would be tacos or burgers made at home.

Special - Stuffed chicken breasts or rare roast beef with mashed potatoes and steamed veggies with salad.

Dinner out - Depends on the restaurant. I like steak or chicken dishes the most although there is a new mexican restaurant we tried recently that was pretty good. I had a chicken enchilada with rice.

Most nights, chicken with steamed veggies. We grill a lot, so could be Rib eye steaks, new potatos and steamed veggies. Rinse and repeat.

Tonight we had chicken in a tomato wine sauce with garlic steamed string beans and rigatoni.

Tomorrow it will be fresh tomato pie topped with basil and fresh mozzerela. Oh and a salad.

Well, sometimes hubby and I don''t agree on things so we are on our own like tonight. Tonight I had Healthy Choice Chicken Margarita Steamer, these things are yummy and under 300 calories!!!

We usually have one of the following: a chicken lentil soup, low fat chilli, udon noodles, grilled chicken, spinach pie, spinach lasagna, gnocci, pad thai noodles, or something from Trader Joe''s (which are often yummy) and salad or veggie!!!

I live by what I call my "4C''s of Life"

Corn, Crab, Chanpagne and Carats !!

Put those elements together and it
would make me very happy.

If I know I''m going to have a late night, I love cooking in my crock pot. Nothing is better than getting home from work, exhausted, smelling yummy food and knowing that I don''t have to cook at all.

I know you''re going to bed now, Storm, but when you have a chance, what''s "sewer pipes"? Does not sound very appetising to me!

Most nights it is some lean meat: chicken, pork tenderloin, lean cut of steak, etc. with veggies and a carb (usually either brown rice or red potatoes).

Special occasions at home: lasagna or a copycat recipe from our favorite Italian place

Special occasions out: Our favorite steakhouse...he gets the steak and I get a lobster tail and we share....and we get this awesome mushroom fondue appetizer, yummy!

Most nights we eat chicken or pork - pork loins or chops, a whole herb crusted chicken, with a few veggies like steamed broccoli or asparagus.

Busy nights, DH loves to make homemade pizzas (he considers buying the dough already made) and then cooking up some italian sausage and building his favorite pizza

Special nights - anything seafood - seared tuna or one of our favorites, a classic New Orleans dish - BBQ Shrimp
18.gif

Favorites meals at home are big salads -- usually Greek salads with good feta, kalamata olives, tomatoes, red onion and occasionally chick peas. We make our own dressing with good olive oil. Yum. My favorite. Sometimes, we make a pizza too, so we can have it as pizza salad, serving the salad on top of the pizza, although my hubby is not so into this.

We love broccoli rabe, garlic, white beans and pasta. Also, pasta with fake meatballs is a favorite.

My favorite meal out is Kerutuk at a local Malaysian restaurant (love living near New Haven). It's a stew-like dish of potatoes, carrots, tofu in a mixture of spices (coriander, fennel seed, cinnamon, cardamom, star anise) and a cocunut milk reduction sauce. So good. That's what I'm having tonight!!

I''m with Kittybean--anything Italian. Pizza, pasta, lasagna...if it involves red sauce and cheese, I''m in.

A lovely home cooked meal ( not fussy here ) preferably at someone''s home so I just enjoy the food and company.
