try ebay

avoid ebay at all costs.
First you need to find out for sure what you have and current market value.
A highly skilled appraiser of colored gemstones would be the first step.

I recomend Richard Sherwood.

Once you know what value level your dealing with you can make an informed choice on where to move them.
On the high end there are some dealers that will sell for a cut of the selling price.
Those are big enough that they may be interested but again you need to find out for 100% sure what you have.

Very good advice. I ditto sending them to Richard to see exactly what you have gem quality wise. Good luck!!!

I agree with strmrdr. If after sending it to a qualified appraiser you find it is very valuable you might concider getting an AGL or AGTA certification on the stone. Then you can either sell it yourself or have someone broker it for you. If you put it on ebay make sure you put a very good reserve if it is a valuable stone. Most people there (like me) are looking for bargins.

Maurice

Wow...if they are as nice as you describe, and are certified unheated, they could be worth a great deal of money...

Have you considered going to one of the major auction houses? (Christies, Sothebys, etc?)

what about talking to cherrypicked.com? The site says they do sometimes get their stones from collectors. worth a shot, I guess.
