Over the weekend DH and older son were watching Stranger Things and I tuned into a live on IG and this band popped up. I have been really good about not buying anything lately but have been keeping an eye out for a band like this. It is in pristine condition and I have looked for a long time for a band like this in a larger size, they are hard to come by. This one is by Bristol.

Anyways, got it today and I’m not sure how I feel about how it looks with my other rings. It’s 18k but definitely has a darker tone than my other 18k rings. I’m conflicted because it really is in such great shape and I’ve looked for so long.

So help me out, here are some pictures I snapped super quick this morning, also some of these rings are a bit small, but gold is too high right now, so excuse the finger pudge.

Here is the band in question

With the ring I’m wearing most often these days:

Just for comparison, this is the band I wear most often with this ring, it is 18k and single cut diamonds aka Pearl’s ring.

I think it looks really good stacked under the sapphire band! Looks more "vintage" than the other rings you have in a cool way. To me the sapphire ring makes the contrast less obvious between the darker tone of this ring and the lighter color of the metal on the other rings. Just my 2 cents :)

I wonder if you polished it with a gold polishing cloth, the tone would brighten?

Thanks for your thoughts @cloud_less, I agree that the color difference is less pronounced with a buffer aka that sapphire band. Wasn’t sure if it was just me trying to justify keeping it or if it did indeed make a difference.

@mayaINaU, I actually gave it a once over with a polishing cloth before taking these pictures. I wonder if this band is unplated, hence the more gunmetal appearance? I don’t have any unplated white gold to compare it to.

This ring is in such great condition! I love the cross hatch design in the details. I've never seen one like that.
If the price was right, I would keep it.

The pattern is awesome; my Belais band is darker and I like it :) If you got it for a good price I say keep.

@stracci2000, well the price wasn’t as right as some of your finds that’s for sure ;)2

@Mreader, do you happen to have a picture handy of a stack with your Belais? I’d love to see it!

I like the look of it. A lot. :)

But - as has been said already,
If the price comes into factor because it’s not “the” exact ring you were hoping for - return it.

I really like how the band looks with the more vintage-y (?) rings/bands in pics #1, 3, and 5. It still looks good with #2 and #4, but there seems to be more of a contrast? Maybe b/c this band is so detailed while those rings are more streamlined?

I love the carvings on the band. I think it’s really pretty..You could always have it rhodium plated to make it whiter.
I have two beautiful carved bands in different thicknesses that I don’t wear. If you don’t love it then I would send it back. I noticed that anything I don’t love right off the bat that I need to be convinced to keep..I should have sent it back. I have a lot of those..unfortunately..

 I love that band and it looks natural in all of your stacks, like it belongs. It's in great shape and the blossom pattern has barely any wear at all! I also love the patina and wouldn't touch it. It's hard to replicate.
I would keep.

@Rfisher, thanks, I like it a lot too. I just wasn’t expecting the tone of the metal to be so different from my other rings. I do dig it though, it has soul.

@AnastasiaBeaverhausen, I get what you are saying totally. This band seems to also flow a little bit better with platinum vs 14k (probably because it’s rhodium plated). The darkness of the ring itself doesn’t bother me, just wanted to make sure it didn’t look totally off you know?

@MamaBee, yes I agree about things you don’t instantly love and give that same advice to others on the forum. I’m not going to rhodium it though because that would kill all those years of patina. I’ve been wearing it all day and it’s definitely looking like a keeper! Btw, excited to see your Winter reset

@ItsMainelyYou, I’m going to keep it! I would be hard pressed to find another band in this good of condition in a size over an 8. Thank you for weighing in!

Thanks everyone for the reassurance!

It's beautiful. Keep it!

@natasha-cupcake, I’m going to keep it! I’ll wear it to our next coffee date when school is out when you have a free day :)

@Mreader, thank you so much for sharing, all of your rings are beautiful! In your pictures the color of the band doesn’t stand out or look off at all to me, it looks perfect. This is exactly what I needed so thanks again!

The different tone really doesn’t bother me (I love mixing metals as well) and the details are so pretty that I would keep it if it were me but if the different tones will keep bothering you then you should return.

It's gorgeous! And it looks wonderful on you! I can't wait to see it in all kinds of different stacks!

@Muluver thank you for your thoughts, I am going to keep it as it really has grown on me throughout the day.

@foxinsox, you have some of my favorite bands so if you say keep then keep it I must! In all seriousness it is good to have reassurance that it doesn’t look out of place.

@MiniMinerva, I agree that it adds more texture and interest and hey anything that makes a diamond look whiter is good in my book!

@PreRaphaelite, thank you so much, like my sapphire band it will definitely become a staple and make some appearances ;)2

I think this band is absolutely beautiful! It does look a bit darker but maybe it’s due to the recessed design ? I actually think it looks darker like patina on platinum ? I love it ! Maybe if you dislike the darkness have it rhodiumed?
I say it’s a keeper ! Enjoy

@firekeepingwolf, thank you and I agree that it does have a patina more associated with platinum, I noticed that when trying it with my platinum rings. In any case, I’m going to keep it and enjoy it as is :)

Wow, well thank you so much @Ibrakeforpossums, it does have a lot of character and for that reason, I would never rhodium plate it.

So glad you are going to keep this. The carving and engraving is exquisite. Such a special piece!

Thanks @kgizo, this was sold through an IG live and there were so many people who wanted it that I thought there was no chance. It’s just near impossible to find these in larger sizes so even though I wasn’t really looking, definitely had to scoop it up!

What a great find! It looks great stacked and the condition is insane. Such a keeper
