Where/how to sell large diamond

Bah, can't get the report to load!

Please may I ask if someone could copy the stats into the thread? :)

I was informed that much of the GIA site went down at 5pm PST yesterday and will be down until Monday for scheduled maintenance. (I can’t login for my coursework because of it.) Not sure if it is impacting reports as well.

I can’t get it to reload today but I think the table was 66 percent, crown 40 degrees, pavilion 41.2 degrees. Lots of crystals in the center of the table, extra facet, some feathers and cavities on the edges, no clouds listed.:rolleyes2:

Also 3.5 ave girdle, thin to thick and close to 11x11.

To me it’s eye clean but I’m no expert on any of this. It’s definitely a more sparkly diamond than my 1.5 emerald cut!

(And yes, my engagement ring is really dirty and needs to be cleaned!!)

66% table + 40degree crown?!

Wow... lol

We need much better pictures! ;) :P

I can't see the cut pattern clearly in your photo (try and take a nice clear in focus top down photo of it) but you said you inherited the stone, with a table that big and a crown like that it could be a transitional stone. Do you know roughly how old the stone is? I'm asking because if it's a vintage or an Antique diamond that might also be another good reason not to mess with it.

if you want to sell it yourself try listing it on Loupetroop and get someone like Dave Atlas (lovely guy) to act as an intermediary for you, (which he would do for a nominal fee);

https://datlas.com/

If you don't want to handle it yourself consignment at Love Affair Diamonds contact Erica;

http://www.loveaffairdiamonds.com/

or Grace at Jewels by Grace;

https://www.jewelsbygrace.com/

If you want a straight sale and are happy taking a bit less someone like Mark Broumand would possibly buy the stone from you;

https://www.markbroumand.com/

I have dealt with all of the people I've listed above and they are all honest, fair and generally great to work with.

Just as a general guide, it should be worth around 80-100k, but you may end up being the middle man and not make that much from it.
