haha that is like me with my fetish with taco bell pepsi, mrs salvo!!! however, i absolutely ABHOR the coke at McD''s...it''s always too thick, flat and syrupy and they never put enough ice!!!

it''s so funny how even something as small as a DRINK is so personal! your drink happiness is my drink horror!
3.gif

you are so right about not enough ice. I always ask for an extra cup when I drive thru
3.gif
i do really like taco bell''s pepsi though and the mountain dew there is good too.
my hubby is a pepsi guy, but in the rare occasions that I buy pop at a grocery store, I usually get what''s on sale

I like original pepsi but drink Diet pepsi because the Cal
3.gif

Caffeine Free Diet Coke, but my grandparents buy us Caffeine Free Diet Pepsi all the time because we live in the city and they live upstate where it''s much much cheaper, they should have stock in it! We have 5 fridge packs and I''m sure more will come next week when my dad comes to the city for work! I prefer the bottles to the cans especially when it''s pepsi, because it seems to go flat faster than coke.

i don''t know about these sugar free artificial diet stuff.
14.gif
they might do your body more harm than drinking the reg soda.

I actually agree...I do not have scientific facts to back this up but I see all these women getting breast cancer who drank diet soda for years and years...I treat myself to an ice-cold Pepsi once in a while--too many empty calories to drink daily. But I drink seltzer with fresh lime, cucumber water or iced tea daily, but no artificial sweeteners. I also don't use fake butter. I use the real thing sparingly--all those oily spreads aren't good for you.

ETA: All this Pepsi talk has made me want one BAD!

i don''t like the taste of diet and i agree re: odd things that they put in there...also splenda makes me horribly sick so i don''t even bother trying half of that fat-free stuff nowadays...i figure if i have it it will be full fat and just less often.

this thread is SO BAD! i haven''t had taco bell in months and today was craving their pepsi after this thread so i got it for dinner tonite.
11.gif
greg hates TB and boycotts it so he is having some odd concoction of pizza, chili and hamburger buns.

I was so lazy tonight, I made queso for dinner: melted Velveeta mixed wth chile and onions with Lime Tortilla chips. We sat there and ate that with margaritas.
37.gif

Jen I love that Tostitos queso jar dip from the store with chips, GOSH too good. Heat it up in the micro and put some peppers in it! YUM. My girlfriends and I would overdose on the stuff on girls weekends in Tahoe! Ahh fond memories of heartburn and happiness.
31.gif

Jennifer, you are right, margarine is so bad for you. A bit of real butter or real sugar is probably healthier. I have a recipe somewhere for the most yummy chili cheese dip that you make with cream cheese, taco seasoning, shredded cheese andsour cream...you bake it til it bubbles and scoop it up with chips. I had it at a Superbowl party and was ADDICTED, it makes a good comfort winter food. I tried to make it less high calorie with low fat this and fat free that and it was VILE. So now i just have to eat less of it!

Mara, my hubby loves taco bell, I haven''t been there in about 3 years, ever since I found out they use practically grade K meat products
14.gif
Ick! Plus I always get sick whenever I used to eat there ( must have been the meat!)

Regarding the topic, I HATE pepsi, will take Coke over pepsi anyday. However, I don''t do diet of any kind, pepsi, coke, dr.pepper, whatever. I hate diet with a passion!

Do they have the new ''cherry vanilla diet dr. pepper'' in a non-diet form? I really want to try it, but I want regular!

I don''t have blood I have Pepsi Max in my veins, addicted I''m afraid
2.gif
Love that stuff, the best diet soda I have ever had!! They know me in my tiny village supermarket and ask" how many bottles today then?" What a thing to be famous for!! I have a pint pot of it in front of me right now even though it''s early morning. YUM YUM!!!

DF,

I can''t believe this has gone 2 pages without a single picture of COKE, my favorite!

Here''s a pic just for you!

Oh, DiamondFan, PLEASE post that recipe!!!!

(I have a sneaking suspicion Velveeta isn''t so good for you either...

Diet Pepsi or Diet Coke with Splenda, warm and flat. I know, I know, my co-workers are completely grossed out when I shake down the bottle of soda until there is no fizzle, and then leave it on my desk for a few hours to make it room temperature.

Diet Coke with Lime--I prefer to squeeze my own lime, but the new canned stuff is good.

If no lime is available, I actually prefer diet Pepsi. I think the lime cuts some of the acidity.

This thread is cracking me up.

Such strong opinions about soda pop!

While we''re talking ice, the BEST ice is crushed ice. Lion''s Choice has great crushed ice. Mara, I don''t like too much ice in my drink. I am a big drinker
31.gif
and I go through it too fast if it''s all ice. If I''m there and can get free refills, then lots of ice is fine.

I don''t like the new Coke Zero. I know it''s more like the real Coke, but I''ve gotten used to the Diet Coke taste. I drink caffine free when I can.

And NO soda should have lemon, lime or vanilla added. (Cherry is okay.)

Yes, DF, I remember Emma Sans. She was (is?) beautiful!

patty have you had the crushed ice at sonic?

No I haven''t. We just recently got Sonics in St. Louis and I haven''t been to one.

Do they have good crushed ice?

Please Miss Patty - what is Coke Zero? Haven''t seen it in the UK.

WS
i''m not really a coke drinker.has their flavor change through the yrs?

I''m definitely a Coke gal. Although I won''t turn down a Pepsi either.

Soda is definitely my weakness. I know it''s TERRIBLE for you, I just can''t seem to give it up. I did at least try to do the diet and splenda route and I had horrible, horrible reactions to those sweetners. So I''m back to the regular ol'' Coke.

Definitely prefer it as a fountain drink, but again, I won''t turn away a can of it either!

lily - - I actually have a friend that does this too... warm, flat Diet Coke. She has it EVERY single morning instead of coffee. Every night before bed, she opens a Diet Coke and leaves it on her nightstand to get flat and warm.

Imagine her shock when she did this on a trip to St. Croix and there was a trail of bugs into her soda that next morning!
14.gif

oh....did you know the original coca cola used real COCAINE? why you think they call it COKE?

I drink Diet Coke or nothing
14.gif

I''m quite particular that it be ice cold and drink it from the can. I just love the carbonation and find that over ice lessens the good stuff
9.gif
Hubby thinks I should curb this habit, but I just can''t imagine starting my day any other way then with an ice cold Diet Coke!
18.gif
It''s genetic, as my Father is exactly the same way....or maybe I just learned this habit from an early age...with TAB, first!

Jennifer, I will try to get the recipe for you. I warn you it is yummy and you might eat a whole dishful. I love it. PM if you want and I will look for it...

Lorelei, is Pepsi Max a UK thing? Never heard of it.

Also, check the dates on the bottoms of cans!!!! I play mah johngg with a group of girls and we meet at one of hte girl''s country clubs. They set out drinks and stuff for us when we play. A few times I would open a diet soda and it was gross, flat, and had a horrible before and after taste. For some reason I looked at the bottom and it was expired. And I do no mean a long time, but maybe a month or so. It seems to go bad fast.

Yes DF Pepsi Max is a diet Pepsi but has a much nicer taste than plain DP! It isn''t as "crisp"
6.gif
as DP! You haven''t seen it in the States?

Classic Coke with lots of itty bitty pieces (crushed is best) of ice.
18.gif

I'm convinced that diet coke with splenda contains crack!!! I could not stop drinking that stuff! Literally, could not! I bought a 12 pack and it was gone in two days, and I was the only one drinking it because the husband will not touch diet soda. He was calling me a cokehead when he saw it on the grocery list again.

Now I'm drinking Coke Zero, which tastes more like regular coke than any diet coke, in my opinion. And I can stop after one, instead of popping open another one like I was doing with the splenda version.

I bought a bag of splenda the other day because now I'm on an iced tea kick, and I definitely prefer it over the pink or blue stuff. But has anyone noticed how it foams when you put a spoonful in your iced tea? It kind of reminded me of a science experiment and made me wonder what exactly I was putting into my body.
