I struggled mightily trying to decide between a 3/4 eternity band and a graduated 5-stone ring for my fiancee, who will probably wear this ring on her left hand without a wedding band. Somehow I decided upon the 5-stone design and, as soon as Bob (who was super helpful) and I found suitable stones, I wired the funds - before I could change my mind again!
Late in my struggle I just happened to be going through emails and found one from Whiteflash that included this photo - I guess at the time I viewed it I must have been 90% on the eternity bandwagon because I totally ignored it:
Their Item number 000897, 0.80 center with 0.35 and 0.25 side stones.
Upon further review I decided I really liked this design; a trellis but perhaps a little more delicate since the "inside" trellis wires kind of disappear from the setting, unless one looks really closely.
For the center stone we finally settled on a 1.01 carat, E, VS2, "A Cut Above" Hearts and Arrows diamond.
The middle stones are 0.41 carat, F color, VS2 and SI1 "A Cut Above" H&A diamonds; and
the end stones are F/G 0.25 carat ACA diamonds.
The ring size is 5.25.
Now, for the (actual, of my ring) photos (and since I always ask this to myself when viewing other people's posts); hand shots to follow! :
I know the (semi-comfort fit) euroshank is a little more bulky than a regular shank, but I finally decided people will not be able to see the shank all that much and opted for a design I feel will offer a little more comfort and resistance to turning on my beloved's finger. It may not be a big deal, and perhaps one likes whatever one gets used to; but, I guess my girl will be getting used to the euroshank!
Her birthday is today and on Friday I am driving up to (rescue the ring from the FedEx office and) take her to dinner. (Upon when I will not be able to wait until I can get her to the restaurant and we finish our entrees, so I can make "the presentation"). A couple of months ago she tried on a few full eternities and a (2 carat tw) 3-stone and she finally said she didn't care what I got, she trusted that whatever I picked out would be nice and her only request was she just didn't want a solitaire. She knows a ring is coming eventually, but has little idea what style I chose or what it will look like.
I hope she likes it !!
