Guess what I use........
Wet toilet paper. Yes, you read this right.
Wrapping with wet, packed toilet paper will protect stones and other parts of the piece from heat, while soldering.
An old jeweler told me about this! It really works.

I would not have guessed about the toilet paper, it also seems like a much safer method!

Despite not leaving the house, I have a find!

Check out this insulator that apparently came off our neighbor’s house during the tropical storm we had. Their house is an old colonial so this dates quite a ways back. DH found this earlier in the week when he was removing branches from the storm. Pretty neat huh?

This will be my official right hand ring @bling_dream19 yes, I have been looking for the perfect (for me) cluster. So my heart ring will be on my left and this one on my right, that’s the reason for changing my avatar pic, these will be my daily drivers.

I haven't shared any thrift store finds for a while, so here are a few new items.
This is a nice Delft bowl dating to 1956

The pearls are an endless strand (48 inches) of inexpensive freshwater pearls. The amber pendant is large. The bail is marked 923 silver, which leads me to believe it is vintage.

Next is a gorgeous Aynsley Cobalt decorated bowl dating 1910-1925.

This is a burled wood cigar box that I had to have!

These two gemstone inlaid marble boxes are from India.

And lastly, this is an antique painted decanter in the "Mary Gregory" style. I had to research this one. Apparently, a lady named Mary Gregory started painting children on glass and it became popular with all the glass makers at the time. This decanter dates to about 1900.
