I love pear shaped diamonds. I love marquise too…and I think this complaint applies to both of these shapes.
I have seen all sorts of branded “fresh takes” on fancy cut diamonds - ovals, step cuts, cushions, even princess…(I am sure I’m missing some) there are actually great options available for those shapes if you care a lot about having a well cut diamond.
But why not pears? I know the pointed end isn’t great for light return, but they are such a feminine and beautiful shape and I think that they deserve a bit of a makeover by a brilliant diamond cutter who wants to reimagine how incredible they could be.
I’d love to own one, but I’m tired of seeing mushy facets, bowties and asymmetry. Let’s face it, it seems like most modern brilliant pears available are not great and antiques are impossible to find!
Is there a branded pear cut that I’m missing that exists in the market? I’ve looked to no avail.
