Wider Wedding Band?

Thank you blueMA. I know in my heart that I am going to need to try on bands with this ring. This might sound silly but when I started this thread, I was hoping there was some hard and fast rule or a rule of proportions for the rings that could help me do a blind purchase on the internet.

Because of what you’ve said, I won’t rule out a much wider band. I can see how that would be very beautiful.

There's no such rule. Everyone's taste differ and only your eyes will determine what looks better to you.

Here are some pics! The light wasn’t great and my hands are not so nice, but it’s about proportions so here we go! The band is a delicate antique band I bought on LT from ihy138. The ring is a reset vintage stone, 0.52 ct. in the stuller crown setting in 14k unplated WG. The band is a scant 2 mm.

I wouldn't go much below the 2 mm mark for that type ring... you won't notice that much difference in the band and ering widths. Mine is 2 mm and pinched to 1.8 mm (1.6 at the top), and my band is 2.4-2.5 mm.
