Will this make a nice reception dress?

I like this one too [site link]

That POB dress would be perfect! It is a $$$ though. Are you working with a certain price range? This might also be a good time to look for used bargains -- you might just find a w-dress that would make the perfect reception dress with the help of a pair of scissors!

Oooh. I didn''t even notice the $$$ - I was so busy looking for an appropriate shape. Sorry about that. I think the reception dress should be of similar "value" [for lack of a better term] as the wedding dress.

I like the scissor idea.

Sorry! I've been really busy and haven't had a chance to respond. Yeah, after some research, Priscilla of Boston is a bit $$$, so I've been browsing elsewhere. I LOVE my wedding dress, but I really think I'm going to get tired of wearing it all night. Is it so bad to want to wear a shorter dress for the reception?

ETA: I'd probably wearing my wedding dress through the first dance and change after...

I think you might get mixed responses on this, but I see a reception as a party which means that a cocktail dress is perfectly appropriate. I don''t really see the point of changing unless you go into something short (or drastically different). I would have reservations if it is black tie (in which case, I don''t think you should change) or if a majority of your guests will be wearing long dresses (like your BMs).

Thanks katamari! Well, my wedding isn''t black tie and ironically, my MOH just picked herself out a tea length dress. So I think I can pull this off! I''ll keep you guys posted.

I agree with katamari on whether or not you can wear the first dress you posted. However, if I were you, I''d stay in your beautiful wedding dress for the reception. It seems like such a waste to wear it for just a brief time. It''s not like you''ll ever wear it again! I thought about getting a 2nd dress for the reception, but I couldn''t do it for this same reason.
