What shape would be the most and the least expensive per ct? the more facets the more expensive ?

I'd love to know the answers too.

The thing is DF, that prices are adjusted somewhat for the smaller face up size of certain shapes. So you could say that asschers are less than rounds, but they face up smaller. Same with princess cuts, etc. So I am not sure this is going to be all that meaningful. My asscher's diameter was around 5.5 mm and a 1 ct round is 6.4-6.5mm.

Rounds are the most expensive, they have their own price list. All other shapes fall into a fancy shape price list, heart shapes may fall into one of the less expensive per carat stones.

If that is true then the Octavia should be priced lower than MRBs...

I'm going to guess and say that AVRs AVCs and Octavia's and other specific "custom cuts" are the most expensive apart from fancy colour diamonds...

I have heard that if clarity and colour are the same, rounds are the most expensive. Not sure which shape costs the least.

DS,
The size difference sounds huge when you put it as 5.5 mm versus 6.5 mm but when you calculate the surface area which is more accurate since a round is basically a square with cut-off ends, the difference isn't that big.
Your asscher = 30.25 (okay, so you still have clipped corners to consider  )
Your RB = 33.16

Still, the 1 ct round is visually larger. I have both and it is easy to see with 10% more area.

Ha! That would be nice, but we all know specialty cuts with ideal optics are more rare and often cost more to cut! That's another reason this question doesn't really work. Too many exceptions! I have both, the generic asscher that costs less than a same weight round and an AVR which costs more than a same weight generic round!

So the extra $$$ is mostly in labor?
