Working on custom ring design...

The noticeable part to me is the angle of the wrap around the stone, the wrap.

Honestly, I think that this design is going to be very difficult to get exactly right - I'd consider ordering the original setting and having DK add the customizing touches that you were interested to that.

I am interested to see the finished product with your mother's melee inside the shank/band. I am working on doing something similar.

It looks lovely.

I do, however, have one suggestion. Has DKJ done this type of ring before, have you seen the finished item, if so?
And (more importantly) if they haven’t - are you willing to be a participant in a “let’s learn as we go” possible type scenario?

DKJ is wonderful in doing whatever they can, including revisions, to make sure you are happy. So no issues there. But if it could turn out to be a learning scenario, with both time and experimenting - I think it’s nice to know beforehand.

Completely agree with @Rfisher.

Sorry I've been MIA from my own thread. Work and home life has been a bit crazy.

I wasn't going for an *exact* copy of the inspo ring, but close to it. So far, I'm happy with the little differences that are present between the inspo and the CAD.

I'm also okay with the ring being customized to my particular stone. I waited 19 years for my ring (anniversary was yesterday, actually), so I doubt I'll be upgrading anytime soon. :cool2:

DK has my stone now and is working on the ring.

I'm glad you're happy with your design. You must be really excited. I'm really excited for to you too! Looking forward to seeing how it comes out. Do you know how long it will take to make?

He originally said about 3 weeks. I’m on pins and needles!

It looks really faithful to your CAD model. You must be thrilled! The hidden stones are a really nice touch. Are they birthstones?

I am VERY thrilled to get it in/on hand.

Yes, they are. Red spinel for hubby and sapphire for me.

(I recently found out that red spinel is an alternative birthstone for August)
