Would love some assistance on getting the best for my money!

Re: Would love some assistance on getting the best for my mo

Welcome! :wavey:

Re: Would love some assistance on getting the best for my mo

I love the cushion Gypsy posted  I think it will be a beautiful choice!

Re: Would love some assistance on getting the best for my mo

Also stay away from Carol. This is not information overload. This is a very important and expensive purchase. To me it is worth it to put some thought and do some research before just throwing your money out the window.

Re: Would love some assistance on getting the best for my mo

Thanks everyone for the vote of confidence, ive recieved confirmation from JA of the 3 day wait period for the ASET image this morning.

I also added another similar stone just for reference, even though i have a good feeling about the original VVS2 I 1.01.

I emailed Wonder Jewelers last night and asked for a full refund since i was within there 30 day 100% no questions asked money back guarentee, i recieved an email within 15 minutes saying only 2 words "No Problem" ill be following up with them this morning.

So when i post the ASET image for the Cushion cut stone and everything checks out ok, anybody have any suggestions on a setting?

I was thinking Solitare for simplicity (and price since i pretty much emptied the savings on the stone) looking for something that compliments the cushion cut in not too high of a price range Hopefully around $600-$800 maybe more if i have to.

Thanks for any insight.

Re: Would love some assistance on getting the best for my mo

Glad that WJ stood by their money back guarantee. You cannot go wrong with a solitaire setting. Is there anything on JA that you like?

Re: Would love some assistance on getting the best for my mo

This is my favorite setting at JA, but I recognize that it may not be in budget. http://www.jamesallen.com/designer-engagement-rings/meno-collection-by-danhov/14k-white-gold-four-prong-cl116-by-danhov-designer-engagement-ring.html It can be made for a cushion.

If that doesn't suit, I'd get this one: http://www.stuller.com/products/122005/3453000/?groupId=113778 (JA can order it in for you. Should be around 600 bucks).

This one can also accommodate a square, I bet: http://www.jamesallen.com/engagement-rings/solitaire/18k-white-gold-double-bevel-knife-edge-engagement-ring.html

When you are looking at JA settings make sure you look at the photos on the right, in the middle of the page of the "REAL" versions of the settings (not the CAD). I like the CAD for this setting, but dislike the execution in the 'real' versions. So it's important to make sure you like the 'real' versions before ordering.

Re: Would love some assistance on getting the best for my mo

So just a little update, after being tired of the BS from WJ i asked for my refund and had to pester them all day yesterday until they overnighted me a refund check.

I was really not happy with any of the service i recieved while dealing with them, when i originally purchased i paid with a card but they sent me a check to "avoid paying a percentage to the credit card company" as they said... now that sounds like the same load of BS ive been getting fromt he start!

So very thankful for the information i recieved here on PS and was able to avoid being parted with my hard earned money (pending no problems with there check...)

So after looking at the Cushion cut stone i had put on hold i ended up price comparing the exact stone from Diamond Review i saw Enchanted Jewelers had the stone for less that JA.

Now im aware that the service is part of what im paying for, and didnt want to beat them up on an already great price on a stone but inquired if they price match competitors.

They said they may be able to discount it, and sent a note to her manager with the link to the online ad.

Then she then asked if i had any discounts i mentioned im a member on pricescope and that saved me around $250!

So heres the setting im looking at that fits my budget a little better, i do like the Cathedral style 4 prong just a bit out fo my price range.

Anyhow still have another day or so before i get my ASET's back, ill post those up when i get them.

Thanks again to all of your for your support, feedback, and help couldnt have done it without you!

Re: Would love some assistance on getting the best for my mo

Ok ladies and gents, ASET images are in!

Also just got back from cashing and depositing my refund check from WJ so turning out to be a great day!!!

So heres the diamonds i had images of

First is the diamond Gypsy suggested the 1.01 I VVS2 cushion #1360248 shown here
http://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/...tm_medium=shoppingengine&utm_source=shopzilla

Then i had another one done with a very similar diamond just for comparison, this was a 1.05 I VVS2 Cushion #1364208
http://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/I-VVS2-Ideal-Cut-Cushion-Diamond-1364208.asp

As you seasoned pros can tell ( and from the suggestion of the gemologist who emailed) the stone Gypsy picked out is the winner based on the ASET images.

I also have been looking at settings and trying to get that sorted out, i guess i need to get on the phone with the sales guy and get one sorted out.

Heres the style i like, but i think its a bit out of my budget of $600-$800... not sure didnt see one like it on the JA site.

I like the double prong look on this one but same basic style.

Anyone know of another vendor i can get a setting like this through and have it bought and sent to JA for the setting?

Anyhow looking through the setting suggestions all of you posted and trying to narrow it down.

Anyhow comments are always welcome on the finializing of the E-ring, thanks again so much PS community for saving me!!!!

Re: Would love some assistance on getting the best for my mo

Just wanted to follow up with my post with the purchase and some pictures.

Couldnt have done it in the tight timeframe without the help and suggestions of my fellow Pricescopers thank you so much!

I ended up going with the 1.01 I VVS2 Cushion Gypsy posted up with a 18k White Gold Thin French-Cut Pave setting.

Getting ready to head to vegas tomorrow for New Years where i will be asking this amazing woman to be mine for the rest of our days, and i couldnt have pulled it off in time without the wonderful help ive recieved here!

An extra special thanks to Gypsy, ive been cruising the forums reading noticing how much time she spends helping others you truly are a wonderful person.

Now onto the pics, the camera wasnt really getting the best shots (especially for a DSLR!) but u didnt have the macro lense to get a really great quality pic.

Enjoy the pics, and a huge thanks again to Pricescope!!!
