These Tiffany Victoria Earrings are still new and could be returned/exchanged but should they? One of the petals has medium/strong fluorescence. It does not affect overall look of the earring. It does not show up in the sun but this particular petal does not reflect light as much as the others (again, not visible unless you have my vision, which only 0.05% of population does, ). On their website, Tiffany claims that they do not sell diamond with a strong fluorescence. Well, they do now, apparently. Should I stop by Tiffany and ask to exchange? Otherwise, the earrings are beautiful. IMG_1601.JPG

It sounds like this will bother you. Even if the different look isn't due to the fluoro, you'll always wonder if it was. Just exchange them! Do they have other pairs in stock so you can select your favorite?

HI:

Absolutely. I would NOT want this!!!

They do have one pair but that one had two petals with fluoro (not as strong but close). I am not even sure if I can find ones without strong fluoro.
Here is a comparison to my ACA faint fluorescence. IMG_1603.JPG

When spending a lot of money you are entitled to expect to receive exactly what you wanted.
While most people wouldn’t even bother testing with a UV light, let alone being to detect the difference in daylight, you can and it disappoints you. I would return for an alternate pair.
Take a UV light with you to check the new set.

I think fluorescence is amazing, so I'd be more unhappy that the other petals lacked it.

That said, if you don't like it then I'd go for an exchange. I also wouldn't be happy if they're not as advertised. Imo that's not acceptable, especially considering the premium Tiffany charges.

If it were me I’d definitely return/exchange them. That stone’s prong looks bigger than the other three also, unless it’s an optical illusion due to the lighting. At Tiffany’s premium they should be close to perfect.

It’s all fun and games until you take them to a club with blacklights.

In all seriousness if it bothers you, return them. However I personally think it’s cool.

The prongs are perfect on all of the earrings, including shape and size of the marquise stones. I will go to the store to see what they say but most of them will have at least one stone with fluoro. It is just that most people do not check, as someone else pointed out here.

Lol. I am a little too old for clubbing but I know what you mean.

No.

The flourescence doesnt bother me but the fact it's not reflecting light as well as the other petals would bother me. I
would exchange it.

Yes it would bother me

It wouldn't bother me, but it bothers you and that's what matters. When paying a premium especially, you should get what you want and what you expect. I suspect this will always bother you, so I would ask for an exchange

I would exchange since it seems like it bothers you already..the light performance and the fluorescence.
Honestly, it would bother me especially if I’m paying premium prices. Pretty earrings!

For the incredible premium you're paying for the Tiffany brand, keep trying until you get exactly what you want.

I agree if it bothers you (especially the performance of that one stone in normal lighting conditions) that’s what matters, address it - return for another pair that doesn’t have that issue. Worst you can be told is ‘no, your expectations are too high’, then so be it.

If ‘Tiffany doesn’t sell diamonds with strong fluorescence’ does maybe only apply to certain jewelry lines/certain diamonds - would that change your thinking?
Isn’t it Garry who has said grading of fluorescence is up for debate? Or I’m misremembering.

If swapping out the earrings labels you as a PITA customer - does that cause problems for future purchases?

Mind clean is a funny thing.

Tell them what the problem is and see how they react. They might say that only their engagement rings are guaranteed not to have SF, or some other explanation, in which case exchanging might never work.

HI:

Let us know how this unfolds.

I’m surprised Tiffany sold this. Could it possibly be a return that had a stone replaced?

I just came back from Tiffany. It looks like I passed the 30 day mark for return (I was under the impression that they had extended return due to holidays but I was wrong). They agreed to send it to NY and replace the stone at no charge. I now hope they will not screw up.

Thank you all for your input. You, guys, are the best!

I’m confident they’ll fix this to your satisfaction. I hope it doesn’t take too long so you can get those beauties back on your earlobes!

You love the earrings. Just not that one stone. Glad they are doing what they should.

Thank you! They estimated 3-4 weeks.

That is great! I think the idea of it would have always bothered you so glad you took it back. I am sure it will be done to your satisfaction.

I would exchange them because it would bother me.
