Congratulations!!!
You looked stunning ellaila, the dress looked light and floatly and elegant!
Your hubby is quite the cutey too!
Castle Hill is just beautiful, my Fiance and I checked it out a couple weeks ago - I was inspired by your wedding planning.
Those cottages are just adorable!
Can''t wait to see the rest of your pictures.
It seems like it was the perfect place for your intimate and very special wedding!

Best wishes for a LONG and HAPPY life together!

Scintillating...

Thanks you guys! I''ve shown hubby this thread and I just keep saying, "Aren''t these the best people?? See why I''m always on PS??" -- I think he gets it now! Everyone here is just the best!

We got our table cameras developed today, and though GRRRR most photos were taken w/o the flash, it actually resulted in a cool effect for some photos! I really like this one!

Oh Scintillating, I hope you guys had some drinks on the lawn at Castle Hill!! That place is just the way life should be ... I want to go back already! Is it too early for us to celebrate an anniversary?

I forget -- are you having a big wedding or small? Ours was very small so we just used the Ocean Room inside the main building, not the Chalet, which is where they have their bigger weddings. I don''t think we could''ve afforded a bigger wedding there -- Newport ain''t cheap! But it did give us a taste of the good life, that''s for sure!!

Small - Small - Small wedding. Possibility just our nuclear families for a wedding dinner.

How many people did you guys have at your wedding?

No - Newport ain''t cheap. grrr.
We took a look at Belle Mer on Goat island for a small brunch wedding - I fell in love, it''s gorgeous, but the set-up fee is as much as the catering would cost. A brunch for 65 people would come close to $9K, with all the fees, minimal liquor, catering, setup, etc. - we were incredibly disappointed.

Back to the drawing board. We may just elope, or have a small wedding dinner at a restaurant in Newport.

Tell us more about your big day.

Scintillating...

We had 39 people, including us -- we used the Ocean Room, which holds 40, so it was perfect!! We obviously had the ceremony outdoors, and we also had the cocktail hour out on the patio -- it was beautiful

I can tell you that our dinner for 40 was cheaper than the brunch you mentioned at Belle Mer! And that was with open bar, champagne toast, passed hors d'ouevres, and a two-course dinner plus dessert!

I'll try and find some good photos of the Ocean Room to post too. It was really even prettier than I had thought it would be. Obviously I'd seen the room before but I'd never seen it set up for a party, and we had lots of candles, which really played up the dark wood of the room -- just lovely
