Exciting!!!

*insert waving hands and running around smiley*

:D

I know it's only experimental at the moment but I REALLY hope @diagem is able / happy to offer MMD options on his amazing cuts in the future - it might be the only way those of us with (very!) limited budgets are able to afford them :))

@Karl_K - perhaps a chance to get a chunky Octavia of your own?? Looks like this one might be a 2.784ct - that must be about the largest size to date?!

Fingers and toes crossed!

Ordinary folks like me might eventually be able to afford a 2ct+ Octavia one day!

Fantastic!

YAAAAASSSSS! @diagem can you please please please cut a light brown or low color version? I would be SO DAMN HAPPY!
Depending on how brown you want it that could be possible in mmd. Yoram would know more than I would.

Yes, it will be the largest.
I have Octavia #1 the prototype that started it all.
Sweeeeet :))

I wasn't sure if you had one!

Nowhere near finished and looks amazing already

I think the frosted / uncut facets give it an interesting look :D lol

lol also at "We roughly positioned two out of three step facet rows on the crown and three out of three step facet rows on the pavilion." - they look pretty damn perfect to me already

Positioning is one of the most important things and its all cutter skill.

This is very exciting!

I like the way that you can't plug number into a computer and then just have it grind a piece of rough into the shape programmed in - the artisan skill in working with the material is cool :))

Please share what he answers. I’m willing to dip into my saving for a yoram mmd!

I'm guessing it's not going to be $800/ct like lightbox...

:???:

:((

If I had any savings at all (and a job right now....) then I would be seriously interested in this one!!

I believe we should start forming an orderly queue.

Wow!

this stone is seriously glorious. Sadly these will still be far out of my budget (confirmed by Yoram), but I'll happily continue to watch and admire!

I feared / expected that would be the case for me also... :(

I am thinking of it in terms of paying for the craftsmanship of the artisan, turning a low(er)-cost material into something incredible!
