I posted this in another thread I started (when I was considering having it made) but had to share again, because I am obsessed! I had a solitaire DBTY necklace for years and this .25 ct single stone that was once a set of earrings (lost one!) and had the idea to make a 3 stone DBTY necklace.

Also had these earrings that sat in my jewelry box for years because I am just not that into pearls and have SO MANY... but really wanted a pair of "crawler" type earrings - so I had the pearl that used to dangle from the end taken off and now I have this gorgeous pair of bezel set diamond crawler earrings. So happy when I can re-purpose jewelry I already have!

I bought a Spessie from Sukrita at Aureliagems and her jeweler is creating a Stuller inspired setting that I liked. I have never worked with her before but she seems very confident in her jeweler and PS members have given her great reviews. So I am excited about it.

I have a bit of angst over an Ebay topaz ring I want to buy. It is only $350, yet something keeps me from pulling the trigger. I could probably scrap the gold for about $150 and the seller has great feedback and great return policy, so not sure why I am so hesitant.

I just decided on a 1.01ct center diamond for a three stone right hand ring project. Thinking of this setting or something similar. Side stones will be approx. 25ct each.

A few people asked for photos when the new sides were in situ on my 3 stone. There's really not a lot of appreciable difference in a photo, tho I have to say, if you have an eye for color, you *can* see the difference in real life. Just. Also - the higher clarity is a nice mind-clean thing for me.

And here are my 'new' pearl drops; a remake of my previous pearl drops, with the smaller diamonds removed, and now attached to my larger diamond studs, which I never wore. The diamonds are K VS1 and VS2 respectively, 1.95ctw, one a custom cut BGD and one is a James Allen True Hearts. Beautiful, beautiful stones.

And I LOVE the finished result! They were both just a *tad* insubstantial for me, but now this is exactly the sort of thing and the sort of proportions, I love. Earrings are each roughly 1" in total.

And the model is my gorgeous god daughter, who would make a paper bag look good.

Also - and sorry to be a thread hog, here! - somebody asked for a photo of my charm bracelet. It's not done yet - still 4 charms to go, but I'm getting there. When I have all the charms finally together, I'll remove the spring clasps and have the charms attached permanently so they sit a little higher. In the end, it will have 18 charms on it. Eleven will be custom made and unique. I've been going for a modern vibe on this. A lot of charms are somewhat twee or cutesy. I've been after a more streamlined, cleaner look. We'll see what the finished product brings!

The pearls are currently detachable but I might have them permanently attached shortly; I'll never wear those diamonds without them, so I might as well.

I agree - I think the pearl and diamond earrings are perfect now. Altho they might look a little large on my god daughter, on my enormous ear lobes, they're perfect!

And I can hardly wait till next year, when I'm hoping to upgrade my center stone on my 3 stone; having 3 x F VS1 stones will feel like such a luxury!

And re the charm bracelet - this is pretty much the most expensive way EVER of getting a charm bracelet! It's going to be filled with beautiful charms, tho, so worth it, I think. Not for the faint of heart, tho!

I love my charm bracelet, and I have an overall picture of where I want it to land. There's no rushing it, tho; the cheapest charm on this thing was $275, and the most expensive was $750. So they average out at about $500 each. The bracelet was roughly another $800, so if there's 18 charms in the end, well that means...I don't want to think about it!! All that to say, tho - it will be a substantial piece of jewelry; there's more than one way to spend money when it comes to beautiful jewelry!!

I feel very lucky to have it, tho; it's the stuff memories are made of.

This arrived today! Still on the fence though. She’s 2.5ct, Colombian, minor oil. 18K setting, nice and low. There’s a bit of a window that I think the setting was supposed to close, but I can still see a line down the middle back. Or maybe that’s how long emerald cuts look?

And forget about trying to capture the color.


Here she is with my only other emerald ring. The one in my band is slightly lighter and less glow-y.
