I did a sort of upgrade with GOG. My 1.05 G SI1 AVR was lovely, but I could SWEAR I was able to see tint, and it bothered me. For only a few dollars more, I was able to go up to a 1.09 F VS2 Ascendancy diamond, which GOG set for me in the same setting, shaving down the prongs at the same time.

Darren sent me a before and after; the new diamond is 6.65mm up from 6.43mm, it's whiter, cleaner, and the setting now looks better.

I'll share some better photos of the new ring when it arrives on Saturday. It won't be staying as a solitaire - it will probably find its final iteration some time in the new year as a three stone with round sides, a three stone with pear sides, or, most likely, as a cluster.

Today I did what I don't ordinarily do.

I bought a new piece of bling that WASN'T on my long-term wish list.

I bought a preloved Fabergé egg pendant!!!!!!!!!!

I think its all the stress I've been under work-wise these last three weeks. I was ready to pop, blow a gasket.

I've always loved Fabergé eggs, and honestly I really need a necklace. I don't have any necklaces at all other than a plain gold chain and a strand of Mikimoto pearls. With all the Zoom calls I'm on, my neck has been feeling really bare lately. I have a peach-colored silk blouse I'm hoping this egg will look fabulous with!

Thank you! I think it looks rosy too! The website lists it as yellow gold so I think the rosy hue comes from the Guillloché enamel on the egg which is mostly pink with a few taupe accents.

It belonged to @acv123! I was searching loupetroop for a sapphire band, and i saw her listing, which was pretty old, but i messaged her. I was pretty sure it had to be sold, but she still had it. It has a repair which i'd like to have redone, and its a bit snug, but isnt it lovely!!?

There was glue on the diamonds... in multiple spots. And the diamonds were advertised as eye clean but one was so included it didn’t sparkle. One was also decently included when I looked with my loupe but still sparkly enough so I can’t say that one actually bothered me.

The seller denied anything being glued on after I started the return but there were no tiny prongs holding the turquoise like yours had, so I’m thinking the turquoise was glued in? Either way - the combined issues scared me off. I suppose I could have had a jeweler look at it to resolve my issues and it still would have been less than custom making it, but I figured I’d just return and maybe go custom or find a different one.

I’m still considering this style as an option for my sapphire so I’m ok with letting it go. I likely wouldn’t want two of the same style so I think I’d end up selling the turquoise (if I kept it and went with a cluster setting for the sapphire). Plus I could go custom but get exactly what I want.
