The last time I posted here was when I got engaged 6 years ago. Now my husband and I are expecting our first baby in a few months and he got me this beautiful ring as an early push present/anniversary gift (our baby is due on our 5 year wedding anniversary!). It is a 3.74 ctw 7 stone princess cut band. I usually wear a size 5 but since I am 6 months pregnant I stopped wearing my wedding bands and engagement ring for fear of it getting stuck. This ring is about a size 5.25 and the stones are 4mm (please ignore my slightly puffy fingers, it was the end of the day and 90 degrees yesterday). I love eternity bands but they were a bit uncomfortable for me, so this is the best of both worlds. It's so sparkly, pictures don't do it justice!

More costume jewellery than high end, however, I have just ordered a Nomination type charm with a resin insert that can incorporate the ashes of my beloved little dog that died suddenly last month.

I wear a Nomination bracelet as part of my every-day bracelet stack, therefore, it will be a good fit for me.

The bracelet itself is sentimental, in that I bought it at the airport in Florence when I was in the area for a business trip back in the days when I was climbing up the corporate food chain in 2004.

The new charm will replace one of the two original enamel one that no longer has any enamel on it.

It's 2.17ct, roughly 8 x 6mm, untreated. Burmese in provenance. The photo is a screen shot and doesn't pick up the color very well. It's a gorgeous gem. I was looking for a grey with blue overtones, but ended up with a blue with grey / violet overtones. Very happy with this. Will set east/west with pear sides most likely.[/URL]

I was looking for a grey with blue overtones, but ended up with a blue with grey / violet overtones. Very happy with this. Will set east/west with pear sides most likely.[/URL]

@mrs-b No! Haha! I’m going to do that with my silver spinel! Hahaha I swear we are sisters in another life! I also have a similar Pom Pom dangly pillow you have on your bed. I even think we have the same blue rug. I may do spinel sides..Fortunately if I do the three stone we don’t live near each other! I may not even do the cushion sides and keep it plain. I have to get the stone first. I wanted to do diamonds but the spinel wasn’t expensive.

It’s 2.87 approximately 9.7x8mm He said there wasn’t a window and was well cut. We’ll see. I’m not looking for perfection in this. I just wanted something to replace the moissanite I sold. I will probably do the same setting which is more expensive than the spinel! I think I’m going to leave it plain.

Do you regret selling the moissy? That was a lovely ring! I completely understand leaving the setting plain - it's a very elegant look.

I bought this one because I miss both the AVC I sold and also Boadicea. I miss a rectangular shape. This spinel hardly compares - I mean - it's only small But I love that antique cushion shape and will enjoy this ring for summer as something casual. I also thought it would go nicely with my charm bracelet. That charm bracelet. The gift that keeps on taking. Unbelievable.
