Hi! I noticed your halo is a very similar shape from the top as mine. I was wondering about the halo around your trapeziods - Mine is rounded around my cushion, but sharp corners around the traps. In other words, the halo follows the shape of the diamonds. I have been considering looking into changing the halo around the traps to have rounded corners, to smooth out the whole thing. Which way is yours? What do you think? Thanks

Here is my beauty!! Just got engaged on our 6 year anniversary on Thursday and I can't stop staring at my hand! I'm still working on my photography skills but these are my best so far. Enjoy!!!!

After a long wait, I finally have my ring in hand! You can read about the entire process here:

Bottom line: I wanted a Legacy-inspired design to accommodate an August Vintage cushion cut. I got the stone from GOG and Mark at Engagement Rings Direct (ERD) did an outstanding job with the setting, including re-doing my ring from scratch after a slight misunderstanding in design preference. I cannot recommend ERD highly enough.

Diamond stats:
1.24 L SI1 eye clean AVC from GOG
6.26mm x 6.47mm

I was previously engaged and this diamond was set in a solitaire ring which I had purchased for myself as an upgrade to the sapphire ring that had been given to me in the original proposal. That engagement was broken off and since I had purchased my own upgrade (only a few months before the engagement was broken off) obviously it was mine to keep! After not getting to wear this beauty for way too long (since it was still set in the solitaire and it felt weird wearing it as a RHR), I decided to have it reset into a pendant.

Here is a link to the thread for my solitaire setting (under a different SN - changed after the engagement broke off): https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/horrible-pics-of-my-beautiful-new-gog-fireball.121045/

I still have the platinum solitaire setting and I'm actually hoping to put a nice blue sapphire in it someday in the (probably distant) future. Also, my current BF (who is absolutely the man of my dreams!!!) and I are discussing engagement and we are looking at GOG AVR's which is VERY exciting. I can't wait to have the two side by side to compare the sparklies

PICS!!!!

I finally proposed this past weekend in Central Park and wanted to share pictures of my fiance's ring by Mark from ERD. The setting is the Emily and diamond is .90 ct OMB cushion (specs in previous post). My fiancé has been enjoying all the complements and cannot stop staring at her hand. Thanks again to Mark and Engagement Rings Direct.

This is a branch-off of my thread in RockyTalky (backstory here: https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/how-a-visit-to-gog-turned-me-from-pohs-to-chunky-avcs.167785/) since I thought it deserved a thread here so I can Show You The Bling. After having different variations of this ring bouncing around in my head since March, it's finally complete! It arrives at my doorstop tomorrow, and I can't wait to see that icy white AVC beauty in the sunlight. It's simply the most beautifully cut stone I've ever seen. I love it! I'm also in love with the ring. My future fiance only had a few requests for the setting when we "play shopped" a few months ago (something I highly recommend to serious couples should the situation arise while wandering past mall jewelry stores, under the playful and suspicion-diffusing guise of "it's not going to be for a while so let me know what you like now so I don't look suspicious later"): she did not want yellow gold, did not want a thin shank, liked the cathedral shanks but also liked those with tapered/pinched tops (she thought she couldn't get both, hehe). I love the balance this ring strikes. It's artful and interesting yet beautifully simple. I also like how the channel baguette diamonds enhance the ring's presence while not competing for attention with the center AVC.

So I present to you the Vatche style 108 Royal X-Prong w/channel set baguettes in a customly requested 900/100 Platinum/Iridium alloy (thanks PS for that recommendation) paired with my .94ct E VS2 August Vintage Cushion, size 9:

Before I show off the ring, I need to give the backstory

I contacted quite a few vendors here on PS and they were all great but just didn't have the particular halo cushion style that I was looking for. As I was looking through the "Show Me the Bling" section of this forum, I came across a BEAUTIFUL halo cushion engagement ring and I knew that was the one! Turns out it was a custom ring designed by Mark from ERD so I was certain it's out of my budget but I contacted him anyway to see how much.
Just after a few emails back and forth asking what particular style setting and center stone size I was looking for, he was able to give me a quote which was a GREAT price for a custom ring but still above my budget. However, Mark was able to make very slight adjustments to the ring to save on costs and even offer a military discount (as he was a member of the armed forces also) and got the ring right within my budget! I couldn't believe that a jeweler that I had no prior relationship with would bend over backwards to please his customer.
He was even willing to ship the ring before I made the full payment (had some unexpected issues with the bank) so I can have the ring in time for the planned proposal!

Now let's get to the ring. Wow... just wow. The pictures and CAD can not justify how beautiful this ring is. I was a bit nervous about if my fiance' will like the ring since she had no input on the type/size of the ring but she was completely speechless when she saw it. She has heard nothing but compliments wherever she goes (no exaggeration).

Now for the pictures.. (sorry I'm not the best photographer)

Hi everyone. I finally am able to post my 20th anniversary upgrade ring that I received on Tuesday. I purchased the diamond in August but couldn't decide on a setting. I ultimately figured out that no matter how many different options I was looking at my heart kept pulling me back to a simple, classic solitaire.

General Specs:
GOG AVC
1.66
SI 1
L
Trueste Solitaire in platinum
finger size 6 3/8

Let me start off by saying that it was a pleasure to work with Sarah at GOG. This was easily the smoothest high dollar transaction over the internet I have ever had. This establishment is first class all the way. The diamond is everything I thought it would be and more. Jonathan really knew what he was doing when he developed the August Vintage line.

The setting is the Trueste solitaire by Victor Canera. This man is amazing. He is very kind, patient, respectful, accessible, talented and a true gentleman. We traded what seemed like a million emails and even though I ended up choosing a relatively a simple setting compared to some of the intricate beauties he has done for other pricescope members, he never made me feel like I was less important. I signed the work order for the ring last Thursday. He told me it would be about 2-3 weeks for it to be done. The next day I got an email saying it would be done that weekend and it was mailed out to me the next Monday. The total time from order to my husband putting the lovely ring on my finger was less than a week! I love how the ring turned out - it is perfect for me. I will be ordering a wedding band soon and once I decide on the style, you can bet I will be calling upon Mr. Canera again!

Without further adieu ... please meet my upgrade.

First - a link to the ring and video of my actual ring from VC

All of these cushions are so beautiful! I really like the rectangular ones a lot!

Does anybody have any Henri Daussi cushions to share? I don't really see very many of them on here and I adore his rings!

I'm not positive, but I think the poster Luckyeshe has a Daussi. Try searching on her name, and here's her lovely ring:

Loving this cushion thread. I had my heart set on a cushion, but at the time they were hard to find. Oh well, there are always anniversaries.

Please make sure that you post a link to the original thread. I look looking at the specs!

Keep em' comin'
