The Octavia diamond was designed by our own genius KarlK, cut by DiaGem and sold by the Pricescope vendor Good old Gold here.
This GIA 1.34 ct, H VS2 is the first Octavia sold.

Here is a link to a long thread about it.
Close up pics of the diamond start at the bottom of pg 3.
My long-winded review comparing the Octavia to a fine conventional asscher is on pg 9.

The ring is a titanium tension setting made by Boone Rings.

Right now I only have two pics worth posting.
My partner got so excited he took it to show all his friends, but promised to return later.
Then I'll take handshots and other angles.
Knowing me, I'll probably be adding new pics to this thread for centuries.

Magnificent!

You''ve got a great eye for the photos, can''t wait for handshots!!!

I was admiring those on the website, I had no idea PS's own Karl designed the cut! He should be extremely proud. It's just stunning! You should be proud to wear it as well.

ETA- you should be proud to have your SO wear it. What a kind person you are to give such a important piece to the one you love!

Wow Kenny!

So, did the recipient love it? Will we see handshots? It''s just gorgeous. I love it.

Yay! I love it! What an elegant ring design for such a beautiful stone.

That stone is mesmerizing.

Gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous!!

That cut is perfect for a tension ring, the deep cut makes the proportions stunning! I usually think tensions rings overwhelm the diamond in the profile view, but this looks like perfection!

Mmmmm... Octavia...

I''ve been sitting here for more than a few minutes trying to think of words to describe what I see. To me it looks like a piece of fine sculpture. Both bold and understated, Cutting edge and classic. Just stunning.

It''s fabulous. The tension setting really, really showcases the stone. I hope he enjoys it. Thank you for sharing the journey with us!

Ah, perfect design!

Gorgeous!

kenny: I have been visiting PS over the past few days to see if you would give in and post pics before today (even though I totally understand you wanted your partner to see first). It''s stunning!! It''s so cool that Karl designed such a beautiful cut and a fellow PSer purchased the very first one!! I look forward to many more pics!! Congrats!!

Karl...what''cha think? How cool is it to see your Octavia design as a finished, wearable, gorgeous piece?

Wow

On a board full of gorgeous diamonds, that diamond is just drop-dead stunning. Truly. And the mounting is just perfect.

Love it! I love my asscher, but I would be very, very, VERY happy to receive one of these babies!

way kewl :}

The pic below is not the Octavia; rather, it is my other asscher ring.

I love the Octavia design so much.
The design is perfection.

That's why I didn't want to cover up the left and right side of the stone.
It would disturb the important square symmetry of the Octavia.

Notice how the setting covers up most of the outer left and right facets.
This would be fine in an emerald cut, which is not supposed to look square anyway.
But I think it takes away from the appearance of an asscher.
I may have this diamond moved to a setting like the Octavia's.

I don''t know what to say... WOW just doesn''t do it! Congrats to Kenny and his SO for owning such a beauty, and go Karl!

In the original design the top of the four "prongs" were square.

I had him change it to four triangles to cover less of the diamond and complement the triangles you see in the Octavia.

Great job on the setting Kenny, it''s perfection. I just adore your Octavia. It''s TDF and then some!!!!! Wear it in the best of health. What are you doing with the other asscher??
