As Karl would say, way Kewl. He helped me pick my asscher ages ago. I am thrilled for his success!!!!

Thanx ladeez.

BTW, the ring size is 10.5, which makes a 1.34 ct look smaller than if it were on a little dainty lady with a size 4 finger.

My model pooped out and went on strike.

Maybe later I'll take some close ups.

I love that Octavia is set into almost a bridge mounting, leaving the sides more open for light to get in and out. I also like that the width of the band is almost as wide as the stone. I think this band protects the stone more.

Could you please take a photo of your Asscher ring and the new Octavia ring together? I''d love to see the differences in the stones and the mountings.

They''re both beautiful stones and handsome rings.

Congratulations to the both of you! It''s truly stunning.

omg that stone looks awesome from any angle!!!!!!

and I LOVE your sense of humor!! can''t wait to see more!

can I put in a request for a shot toward the diamond from along the band? I want to see how much diamond profile you can see from that angle :)

gorgeous!!!

Holy cow, it is gorgeous! And I LOVE your pictures!

Wow, I''ll have to say, that is the best men''s diamond ring I''ve ever seen! Of course the stone is spectacular, but you also did an outstanding job designing the setting, Kenny!

One of the things that makes this setting so perfect for the Octavia is that light can get IN on all 4 sides.
(In some environments my tension set asscher will look darker on the 2 sides that are blocked with solid metal.)
The four sides of the Octavia in this setting looks uniformly bright.
Also with this setting you get to see that scrumptious view of the high crown from all four sides.
36.gif

Diamonds are very expensive.
Why not see more of what you paid for?

Also, unlike a setting with prongs, this setting does not look like a lady's ring even though it lets light in and out like prongs do.
To me this has all the benefits of a tension setting and a prong setting.

Edit: OMG, I'm so sorry this pic came out so large.
It looks like a doorknob-sized diamond from the Crown Jewels. Hahaha. I wish!
Even after all my pic posting experience here it still requires psychic powers to know how large a pic will end up on PS.

BTW that is the GIA VS2 grade-setting long cloud you see right in the middle of the lowest crown facet.
The back lighting I used emphasizes the cloud.
I used modified dark field lighting - also this is very high magnification.
Two lights are behind the diamond and a white card (with a hole for the lens) is in between the lens and the diamond.
The whole cloud is visible in the lower facet, and the top of the cloud repeats in the upper facet.
It is a totally eye-clean diamond.
All the spots you see are dust.

Wow, that is GORGEOUS!

Here is the Boone Ring's setting that I based mine on.
It is called Sidegrooves.

Note the square "prongs" and the side cutout had a curved bottom.
I requested triangle "prongs" and the side cutout to have a square bottom.

Bravo!!!

Well worth the wait!!

I am SO in love with the Octavia and the setting really showcases it - well done, Kenny!!

More photos, please!

What a beauty! And the diamond isn''t bad, either ....
27.gif

More seriously, Kenny, good on you for gifting such a beautiful thing to your partner, and good on him for modeling it for all us crazed diamond connoisseurs! May he wear it in good health, and may you post many, many pictures ....

FWIW, this is my photography set up for macro close ups.
It is cheap and easy and gives you a large soft even source of white light in front of the diamond.
This large white plastic card is the back of a For Sale sign from Home Depot.

Put camera on timer so you do not touch it and shake the camera during the exposure.
If you don't have a tripod just set camera on something and cut hole in the card in right place.

The camera lens is behind the hole in the white card.
