Oh baby, the photos of the two of them together are overwhelming. My eyes didn''t know where to look first. You can get lost in all that beautiful bright faceting. Just unbelievably gorgeous.

Hi fiber.

LOL!!!! That pic made me laugh. It''s also wicked cool.

Kenny - that setting is perfect, masculine yet elegant, and totally shows off that stunner of a diamond!!

Thanks Y'all.
Lauren, isn't that sooo cool!?! It looks Photoshopped but it's not.

Lyra, just to be clear that card of colors was not used in all of the pics I've posted.
Some are just the diamond breaking up light into colors.
I have posted about this set up once or twice before.
I've certainly not intended to mislead, and I have been very forthcoming about it, without laboring the point by referencing it in every pic that used it.
I think if I had posted diamond pics with all these colors and not explained it would have been a tad deceptive.

Here is another thread from last October in which I used it.
I even showed a picture of the set up. Click

I just see it as a creative way to take diamond pics.
I post about it so others can try it too.
It is cheap, easy and lots of fun.

If anyone has any question about whether this technique was used on any pics I've posted I'd be glad to answer.
I'm certainly not pulling any photography phast ones to try to sell diamonds.

BTW my next idea is to poke many holes in a that card and put the light BEHIND the card.
I think this may simulate that beautiful under-a-tree-on-a-sunny-day effect.

Lots of photographers keep their secrets.
I like to share my pics and my "secrets".

Wow, the setting is perfection and your photos are amazing, as always! What a stunning diamond and setting! I loved the side by side pics, too. The asschers have 2 very different looks...I love them both!

thanks for sharing all of this - the pics are awesome, I would love to sit down over coffee and just discuss your cameras and stuff lol

Keep them coming! just remember to post a reminder on hangout ;D

I am a little late, but I love love love

The perfect setting for your Octavia, kenny.

kenny, I just want to say I really appreciate all the time and effort you expend to take these amazing photos. I never tire of looking at this stone.

at first I was thinking a reset would be nice but to get the same effect your ring would have to be very wide - which as a guy is more doable, but would you want that?

Good point.
I don't really want a wider ring.
My ring size is 8 and the current design is about as wide as I'd care to go, though all those benefits of the Octavia's ring design are tempting.

Also in the back of my mind I'm thinking about a platinum faux tension setting or maybe a Kretchmer tension setting, so for the time being my asscher ain't going nowhere.

Kenny-your photos are amazing. Thanks for sharing your process. I''m so jealous of your equipment!

Beautiful pics and stone!

Hi Kenny,
I just found this thread. You do have amazing photos. Thanks for posting all the info on the ring and stone. Wear it in good health!

I''m late on this one, but the design is genial.
While protecting the stone, it''s a real showcase.
Your partner must be so happy!
But why did you delete the picture?

Oh gosh, I hope not.
It''s a guy''s chest just like you''d see on any beach or public swimming pool in America - maybe not in February though, unless you are in So. Cali.

I love taking pictures that show every day things in an unexpected way.
tee hee... I thought it was a different part of the body!

Thanks everyone for all the compliments on the diamond, the ring and the photography.
For some reason it means a lot to me, probably more than it should.

Stephen, the pic of the ring on the chest was removed by admin.
In fact we users cannot remove uploaded pics if we wanted to.

Someone must have reported it, apparently not being sure what hairy section of the body it was.
I did not mean to offend and I apologize if anyone had that reaction.
I certainly support admin's decision; they have a hard enough job.
PS is for the entire community and if anything even appears it might be inappropriate it should not be here.

I think good photography grabs your attention and holds your eye as your mind races to absorb and even figure out something new.
You can measure good photography by how long you look at it.
An hour later you'll think about it, you may go back to it the next day, and maybe even tell someone about it or share it.
A close up of a ring on a hairy chest is probably for most of us an unexpected eye-catching thing.

When I crop pics I don't think too much; I automatically trust an internal sense of balance and form to achieve impact.
Since I took the pic I knew it was the chest so ambiguity of what part of the body it was did not enter my mind.
My bad.

Wow. This is incredible. I love the way it operates. From far away it has a totally different look, almost like it could be any number of cuts. From close up it has a lot of personality. Either way it''s a masculine cut, so I think you picked a perfect setting.

You not only know how to take good pictures, you know how to clean diamonds.
Gorgeous!

There are just no words for how beautiful and original this diamond is! And you set it perfectly.

Your SO is a lucky guy. And I read on another thread that you got two or three marriage proposals, a granddaughter, and a mistress for buying this diamond! Who knew the power of an Octavia?
2.gif

My goodness. This is my first time seeing these pics Kenny as you linked from the other thread. Being an amateur photographer myself I''m just flabbergasted. Phenomenal work and glad to see you are enjoying this diamond so much. I really have a hoot shooting them as well but I just love your creativity. Keep up the good work!

I love both the Octavia and the generic asscher. Beautiful.

Late to the thread. Apologies.

This is simply the most breathtaking diamond experience I have ever had!

I am just so sad I missed the picture that was removed! LOL. Nothing like a bit of colour to start your day. But hey, the diamonds more than made up for that minor disappointment. I wish you and your partner great health to wear these beyond fabulous rings.

Thank you Kenny!!
