So excited and happy - eeeeeeeeee!

I found this beautiful OEC on ebay - the listing had very average photos but a great price; I asked the guy a ton of questions, he was a great communicator and very helpful - as the ring came with an independent appraisal I thought I'll take the chance, and I'm so glad I did!
The ring arrived this morning, and the diamond is everything I was hoping it would be.

It's a 1.75ct J VS1 OEC in a men's ring, which has 18k yellow gold and 14k white gold.
The ring also has 1.25cts of F VS1 baguette cuts channel set..

I still can't believe the price I paid for such a fantastic diamond, never in the next 5 to 10 years did I think I could buy an OEC of this size and caliber - love it when ebay comes through!

I only did a quick whip-around photo shoot, but here are the pics..

It does that awesome OEC thing of picking up all the surrounding colours in the facets - yum!

showing small table, high crown...
that was part of what I recognized in the poor listing photos, and knew it would be a nice make

fire!

and last one, my patient Fi being the hand model..

If it can be re-sized to fit his ring finger, we may put a blue sapphire in it for him to wear..but I'm a bit in two minds if it's too "blingy" for an ering / wedding ring..
Guy's (and girls) opinions on this welcome!

thanks for looking

Love Love Love LOVE it!! Congrats on such an amazing find. Can''t wait to see what you do with it. Will it be a right hand ring?

What a lovely ring! I think the ring looks great the way it is (on you!), not too masculine at all!

Hi SS!

Thankyou lovey - like I mentioned earlier, if it is only half as pretty as your OEC I knew I would be happy..thankfully, I think it is pretty darn pretty, ha ha..

I think this will be (another, tee hee) alternative e-ring, for days when I''d like a bit more size..plus, despite my best intentions I don''t really end up wearing my RHR''s..I''d like to wear this puppy!

No idea on settings yet though..that will have to wait a lil while

ha ha, thanks zhu but this ring doesn''t even stay on my thumb! I actually like the design more than I thought I would too - but it is much too large to re-size for me.

At the moment, I''m tossing up whether to re-size and keep it as is for Fi, or scrap the gold and keep the baguettes for a future project..

Maybe you can take it to a jeweler to estimate how much you will get for scape metal, how much will cost you to reset it the way you like it, and weight it out. In the meantime, enjoy the huge BLING on your finger (and hold on tight so it does not fly off in excitement):)!

I might have missed it, but you said you got a real good deal on it, did you tell us how much you end up paying for it somewhere?

Thought I may as well post a few more pics before I have the diamond taken out of the mounting..
